R in Nature
Hi all, We've just had a paper accepted for publication in Nature. We used R for 95% of our analyses (one of my co-authors sneaked in some GenStat when I wasn't looking.). The preprint is available from the Nature web site, in the open peer-review trial section. I searched Nature for previous references to "R Development Core Team", and I received no hits. So I tentatively

Publication & Project: Verificarlo: checking floating point accuracy through Monte Carlo Arithmetic
Hi, We have recently published a paper on floating point accuracy analysis through Monte Carlo Arithmetic. We also released the open-source tool Verificarlo (https://github.com/verificarlo/verificarlo) that relies on LLVM for instrumenting floating point operations. Could you please add our paper to http://llvm.org/pubs/ ? Verificarlo: checking floating point accuracy through Monte Carlo

I believe this issue was also raised by Killie & Philip in http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Bug-in-sample-td4729483.html, and more recently in https://www.stat.berkeley.edu/~stark/Preprints/r-random-issues.pdf, pointing to the python implementation for comparison: https://github.com/statlab/cryptorandom/blob/master/cryptorandom/cryptorandom.py#L265 Thanks! bias issue in sample() (PR 17494)
Before the next release we really should to sort out the bias issue in sample() reported by Ottoboni and Stark in https://www.stat.berkeley.edu/~stark/Preprints/r-random-issues.pdf and filed aa a bug report by Duncan Murdoch at https://bugs.r-project.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17494. Here are two examples of bad behavior through current R-devel: set.seed(123) m <- (2/5) * 2^32 x <- sample(m, 1000000, replace = TRUE) table(x %%...

Is R the right choice for simulating first passage times of random walks?
...ou have pointers for those? I glanced at simFrame [5] and read `?simulate` but could not understand it right away and think that this might be overkill. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks, Paul ? Help on R strucchange package
Hello, Im using strucchange package in R software in order to apply Bai and Peron (1998, 2003) structural break tests to a set of n=1671 observations with a constant term (no AR terms). For that purpose I have read several papers, for instance Validating Multiple Structural Change Models An Extended Case Study, in which its aim is to replicate the results from Bai and Perron (2003) in R

Publication of an llvm-based tool that protects against fault injection attacks
Hello, My team and I have recently published an LLVM-based tool at “Cryptography and Security in Computing Systems 2016” (CS2), and we would like to add it on the list of LLVM related publications. The goal of our tool is to automatically protect the code being compiled against fault injection attacks *Title:* Compilation of a Countermeasure Against Instruction-Skip Fault Attacks Available
