R in Nature
Hi all, We've just had a paper accepted for publication in Nature. We used R for 95% of our analyses (one of my co-authors sneaked in some GenStat when I wasn't looking.). The preprint is available from the Nature web site, in the open peer-review trial section. I searched Nature for previous references to "R Development Core Team", and I received no hits. So I tentatively conclude that our paper is the first Nature paper to cite R. A great many thanks to the R Deve...

bias issue in sample() (PR 17494)
Before the next release we really should to sort out the bias issue in sample() reported by Ottoboni and Stark in https://www.stat.berkeley.edu/~stark/Preprints/r-random-issues.pdf and filed aa a bug report by Duncan Murdoch at https://bugs.r-project.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17494. Here are two examples of bad behavior through current R-devel: set.seed(123) m <- (2/5) * 2^32 x <- sample(m, 1000000, replace = TRUE) table(x %...

Help on R strucchange package
Hello, Im using strucchange package in R software in order to apply Bai and Peron (1998, 2003) structural break tests to a set of n=1671 observations with a constant term (no AR terms). For that purpose I have read several papers, for instance Validating Multiple Structural Change Models An Extended Case Study, in which its aim is to replicate the results from Bai and Perron (2003) in R

In the state of the art, software countermeasures against fault attacks are either applied at the source code level where it will very likely be removed at comp...
