Kernel Question
OK- A dumb question. Will a "generic"(kernel.org) kernel work with Centos 4?
My reason for asking- I'm needing to upgrade from RH9, and would rather
go ahead and go with 4 for the 2.6 kernel, but I need a patched kernel
(Win4Lin), and I'm not sure they will offer a prepatched version (though
they probably will for EL4).
Thanks!

Winelol
I downloaded a modified wine version. The problem is that I cant understand how to get it to work! Does anyone know a way to make it default? Or maybe how to open anything with it? Its called winelol, it is a prepatched wine made to play league of legends. Any help would be greatly appreciated!:)

Packages for rsync 2.6.8 with ACLs
Dear rsync people,
I have finally made packages for rsync 2.6.8 with ACL support. You can
download a prepatched source package and RPMs from here:
http://www.kepreon.com/~matt/myrsync/
Or you can use this yum repository:
http://www.kepreon.com/~matt/rpm/
The RPM is called rsync-acl so automatic updating tools will know not to
toss it in favor of plain rsync, but it "Provides" rsync so other

Re: 2.4.20 htb3 oops
Hi everyone,
I am having problems with "oopses" since I introduced HTB on my
company''s PC-based routers. It seems that only routers with high
network load are affected. The average network load on the two most
problematic routers are 10Mbps in/out and 2.5Mbps in/out.
The other machines with less than 1Mbps average traffic seems unaffected.
We have been getting oopses on

Rsync 2.6.7pre3 released
I've just released rsync 2.6.7pre3 -- the third, and (hopefully) final

Make mkpatches fails in tip of xen-unstable; solution suggested
Hello,
I hope that this is an appropriate for this list - please educate me if
not.
Having cloned the unstable repository and attempted to run
"make mkpatches"
I found that it failed because it couldn''t download
linux.2.6.16-rc4.tar.bz2 from kernel.org.
This is because it''s looking for it in /pub/linux/kernel/v2.6 when in
fact it is to be found in

boot Soekris 4801 with EXTLINUX
Hi.
I am trying to use EXTLINUX 3.08 to boot a Soekris net4801 from a
CompaqFlash card.
BIOS reports the CF card as the first master harddisk.
During boot/load the loader hangs after this output:
EXTLINUX 3.08 2005-05-19
PXELINUX and LILO works fine on the same setup
It this a general problem with Soekris/net4801 and EXTLINUX?

Keyboard stops working
Hi all! I'm new to the list (and syslinux for that matter!) but I've
searched as best I can for a similar problem to no avail. I've been
using pxelinux.0 + menu.c32 + memdisk to load MS-DOS boot images for a
few months now using version 3.07. When I introduced a new Intel 945G
based machine to the network I started getting very erratic behavior,
ranging from reboots to hangs, to

GSS/Kerb5, Solaris 10, how to build?
Gang,
I've been trying to build rc29 under Solaris 10 using either
"--with-gssapi" or Kerberos 5 ticket usage. I'm trying to figure
out how to set up fetchmail on another S10 box to do IMAP fetches
from dovecot without having to enter a password.
No matter what configure option I try, I get
Building with GSSAPI support ........ : no

Automated listing of translations on each wiki page
Dear all,
This is a continuation of the discussion on "Link to Chinese translation
in Wiki frontpage" dated 7 May 2009.
To re-cap, I have suggested that the patch in
http://moinmo.in/FeatureRequests/ThisPageInOtherLanguages can be used to
automatically generate links to translated pages at bottom right of the
wiki panel. In addition, I have proposed that the use of a dictionary

[LLVMdev] mem2reg optimization
Hi Chris,
Sounds like an excellent generic approach. I'd love to lend a hand to
implement it but I'm afraid it involves a little more in-depth LLVM
knowledge than what I currently master, so I'll leave it to Dave and you for
now...
Talking about performance, for me this optimization was the difference
between mem2reg taking 63% of execution time, and having it totally

xenU wont boot, cannot open root device
...t;
memory = 64
name = "ttylinux"
nics = 1
disk = [ ''file:/uml/ttylinux-xen,hda1,w'' ]
root = "/dev/hda1 ro"
Ive also tried sda1 instead of hda1, or hexadecimal.
Ans I also tested different versions, xen 2.0.1 and 2.0-testing, with a stock
Linux kernel, and the prepatched Gentoo-dev-2.6.9 Version. I compiled with and
without 4k stacks, but always the same :-(
Ive no ideas what else I could try, can somebody give me an hint please?
Greetings Maurice

[LLVMdev] docs build (doxygen redux)
Need review on new docs build. The directory layout has changed, and the changes propagate through source, build, install and possible website levels. What follows is an overview of the changes and some reasoning behind them.
[patch can be found under pr6613; you will need doxygen.sh, doxygen.patch, doxygen.txt]
[read: doxygen.txt for full instructions]
A build diagram is also available;
