How to use multiple "Connects" in pfSense's prepackaged tinc
...c mesh.
However, experimenting with pfSense, I was unable (at least from the web
interface) to figure out how to:
- configure pre-packaged tinc to start with multiple partners (the
equivalent of multiple Connect lines in tinc.conf and multiple partner
keys, for redundancy at startup)
- make the prepackaged tinc to participate in multiple mesh (the equivalent
of putting /etc/tinc/MESH1/someconfiguration and
/etc/tinc/MESH2/someconfiguration simultaneously)
Anyone knows a way, please?
Thanks a lot!
Friendly regards,
Răzvan

Why is wine not prepackaged on the download site
the reason that the x11 for macintosh being broken is insufficient as a cause for not having a package on the download site. the darwine source cvs repository does not carry a version on it. i personally cannot compile the source for my computer. i can install xfree86, though. if this fixes the x11 problem, considering that most people can achieve this, should there not be updated packages along

Lego Mindstorm/USB on Wine
Hello all
I am trying to make Mindstorm Lego's software work using Wine - but
fail. What I get is some funny "Invalid ELF header" error trying to
load fantom.dll. I suspect it is because it is accessing USB. Could I
check it somehow? What is the level of USB support in wine?
For anyone interested, Fantom SDK is available for download:

XML support needed
The latest version of Password Safe was compiled with a new version of
Visual Studio: VC8.0.
The program continues to install and run fine, but when it attempts to
write it's configuration file at exit, Wine/Windows pops up a dialog

[Newbie] getting up to speed
...ntly my code is architected with a separate audio thread
responsible for decoding chunks of compressed audio on demand ("Demand"
== notification from the audio layer that it will need new data fairly
soon, e.g. using notification handles in DirectSound). Does this seem
reasonable?
- The prepackaged Win32 libs are compiled with "multithreaded DLLs"
instead of static libs. Is it fairly trivial to get the latest tarball
and recompile for static linkage of the CRT DLLs?
- Have people had much success getting Ogg Vorbis to compile and run
cleanly on MacOS 8/9 and MacOS X?
Thanks,

Printing under Wine - Mission Impossible?
...ing with wine for a while.
In wine docs it says wine automatically detect CUPS printer. Well, I have
CUPS installed, everything prints great, except apps running under wine,
which say that no printers are installed.
CUPS version installed. Debian woody version - 1.1.14.3
Wine version installed. Prepackaged Deb 20021013.
Can anyone point me and explain how can I truly print right now under Wine
(using cups or not, wine docs are not very trustfull. (I would thank a lot
if the help would be detailed).
If somebody could help me get it working I would personally offer myself to
better wine doc sect...

VT 64bit kernel with >4Gb RAM
...I ''m using both dual cores as cat /proc/cpuinfo lists 4 processors
>From my understanding, if I had a 64bit kernel I''d see them (pae beeing
only for 32bit systems, right ?)
And I''m guessing if I want to VMise 64bit OSes, I''ll need it.
So :
Is there a debian prepackaged kernel that''d do the trick, or do I have
to compile my own ?
In the afirmative, what patch should I apply and where is that friendly
64bit option ?
Is there something else I''m missing ?
Thanks,

tinc initialization (in both Red Hat and Debian families)
...for tinc, that is an **excellent** and useful package!
Taking into account that both Red Hat and Debian (8.x) families now use
systemd, there is, IMHO, one small. but important correction to be done:
tinc's initialization.
IMHO, we need:
1. A proper tinc.service file, included by default (prepackaged) in the
stock .deb and .rpm packages in Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.
By "proper" I mean it will start tinc at the correct time during system's
initialization, have proper permissions, etc.
2. On Red Hat systems, an /etc/sysconfig/tinc file, as a standard place to
pass in...

If you're on Windows, the way of doing this is to virtualise (either VirtualBox, which is free, or VMWare, which isn't but you can sometimes find prepackaged VMs which work with their free version). I'd recommend using a recent Ubuntu (13.04 or 13.10) for preference, although 12.04 (which is the Long Term Support version) shouldn't present too many pain points.
If you need help, I can probably be of assistance. Keeping track of which commands...

VT-d success - passing PCI TV tuner to Windows DomU
...le on #xen IRC were very helpful. I wasted 2 days trying to get things working on Ubuntu and OpenSUSE with forward patched versions of Xen for newer kernels. Ended up using CentOS 5.1 which has the requred 2.6.18 kernel and compiled from the mercurial source. I iniitially tried compiling Xen in the prepackaged Centos installer Dom0, but the resulting xend would show ACM errors even though ACM was turned off in the compile options. I ended up blowing the install away and installing vanillia CentOS 5.1 without the prepackage Xen and the compile worked fine.
Wasted a few hours because the VT-d wiki was...

memory issue
Hi all,
I use an application named ride (from raisonance: C compiler) under
linux (RHE3) through wine.
I compile a lot of separated applications. the app wine_loader takes
more and more memory. the application stops once the memory size taken
by wine_loader is more than 100MB.
I would appreciate any advice from you.
Regards.

If this doesn't give different results, the audio driver can only be set
globally. If it does, winecfg is buggy.

What is the status and future of chan_mobile
I have been looking forward for months to get chan_mobile working. I am
limited to using prepackaged Asterisk code, mostly Trixbox.
I have recently heard that chan_mobile is considered 'beta' and there is
no effort to move it into the main code of Asterisk. Not even for
Asterisk 1.6.
So what is the future for chan_mobile? It is easy to make a very strong
case for a cellular trunk.

Hello,
I am using the latest prepackaged version of wine (apparently
0.0.20010326) under Debian/unstable and I am completely unable to do
anything network related. I tried 'Ping Plotter' as root and TeraTerm Pro
as both root and regular user. I also tried Becky, but that's another
thing entirely. All these applications did n...

Emacs 24 on CentOS 6.4
...I've searched for every combination
of emacs + 24 + centos without success.
While I could, of course, just do the ./configure && make && make
install dance, I don't like having software installed that's not in the
packaging system. I'd appreciate any pointer to a prepackaged Emacs 24,
or failing that, a good tutorial on how to package software correctly
for CentOS.

Which Asterisk version to use?
...atch and then install Asterisk on top of that, start
with AsteriskNOW and go from there, or start with Tribox? What advantage do
I get installing Linux/Asterisk vs. installing AsteriskNow or Tribox and
starting my learning curve from there? It would seem as the most reasonable
to start with a prepackaged "appliance" installation - no?
Can someone please explain the difference between AsteriskNow and Tribox?
They seem to be filling the same need - a one-step easy installation of
Asterisk on a brand new PC. Am I missing something? Both have GUIs, but
TriBox seems to be more complete...

Has anybody got ACL to work w/ debian, winbindd in a w2k mixed domain?
Im seriously thinking about changing dist. due to acl won't work as they
should with debian woody. Ppl also tell me this is because of some bug in
debian. So, as the subject says, anybody got acl to work w/ debian 3,
