WIne 0.9x crash on make
I've downloaded wine 0.9.1 recently, after having used the last pre-.9
CVS drop for about a month or so, but the 0.9 version won't compile on
my system. It conks out with an error in the loader subdir (actual data
below).
The following is the output I get when I run make:

getting device to boot from thumb drive
I have created a custom kernel as I needed to add floating point
emulation to the kernel.
I used the command below to create my initrd:

Loading syslinux.efi from preloader.efi
Hello everyone,
I am trying to prepare a UEFI bootable thumb drive using syslinux and
Linux foundations PreLoader.efi. I started the same as as it works with
gummiboot-42:
* Copy PRELOADER.EFI to EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI
* Copy HASHTOOL.EFI to EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI
* Copy gummibootx64.efi to EFI/BOOT/LOADER.EFI
With just those files PreLoader asks to enroll gummiboot's hash. I do so

Firefox 2.0.0.14
Hello,
I just installed Firefox 2.0.0.14 ontop of WINE .9.60 in Ubuntu Hardy
IA64. The installation was fine but I have no access to the internet
when I run the Windows version of Firefox. I just get a Server not
found page no matter what URL I punch in. Anyone have any idea what
might be going on?

Preloading shared library with libVirt
Hi,
I am trying to preload two shared libraries while running Qemu using
libvirt. To preload the shared libraries I have added an environment
variable in the $domain.xml file with the following command:

No, preloading just makes the first login faster.

Ajax - preloading images
I could experiment to figure this out, but maybe the work has been done so
I''m going to ask.
Using Ajax, if I wanted to preload several (20) small (<1K) images, behind
the scenes... would I...
1 - Queue the loading of the images with Ajax one at a time,
asynchronously, and ignore the completion results. Would this result in the
image being in the browser''s cache even if

wine or wine-preloader exit with code 2 on x86_64
Hello,
I have build wine with the help of wiki WineOn64bit
LDFLAGS="-L/lib32 -L/usr/lib32 -Wl,-rpath,/lib32 -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib32"
./configure --prefix=/opt/wine --datadir=/usr/share
But wine or wine-preloader always return 2 as you can see :

[root@nico wine-0.9.31]# echo $?

SegFault trying to open Steam
This is very possibly an easy fix, as I've had steam running on this particular box before through wine. However, I've been googling my ass off and looking through the suggested fixes on the appdb to no avail. Let's start with my setup:
OS: Slackware 13.37 (64 bit with working multilib) completely up to date
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT running the most recent linux 64 bit

Should Samba-tool RODC preload be run periodically?
Hello list,
I run “samba-tool rodc preload” for multiple users. If one of this users change his password, should I repeat the preload call? (I suppose yes, I need to rerun)
If I need to rerun samba-tool, can user login with his old password till its expire? (I suppose yes?)
Thank you.

Samba4 - RODC - Credentials caching
I looked all over the place, and cannot find current answer.
I want to store passwords/password hashes on my RODC, so that when my DC
(Windows) fails, my users can still connect using RODC.
The current state that is described (by 3 years old docs) says its WIP, so
I'm not sure what to expect?
Also, in documentation there is no option, to allow for preloading whole
group of users, is that

RODC User preload fails
Hi,
I installed a RODC on my mailserver to have a local authentication for
mailusers on the machine which doesn't rely on a always-on-connetion to
the office.
The problem is now that the user-preload doesn't work so that the RODC
is not able to authenticate the users itself:
samba-tool rodc preload <user> --server <DC1> -U Administrator

Problem running a program that uses .NET 2.0 SP1
There's a program I'm trying to run called UOCartographer, which is a mapping tool for an online game I play. I use wine 1.2.2 under Slackware 13.37 64 bit (multilib).
I of course installed the .NET component with Winetricks, but it gave a slew of error messages. After poking around online and looking at similar errors, I installed jet40 and gdiplus, which cut down most of the errors. But
