I think a good policy on these plugins is to not recommend them, if
people want to use them and get them to work that's great, but prehaps
something like macamp or mint audio would be better to recommend.
We really should compile a list of players which work properly with
icecast, prehaps start an "icecast certification" process? :-) Ie, it

Your app release and marketing strategy..
Hey,
Rapid web development is all when and good but when it takes 4 months

You hear of zero to hero.. crashed the server.. minted before toilet

strategies.. or prehaps an amazon link to "Post-Agile Web

Does anyone plug an app purely based on its AJAX ability? Sure
presentation and delivery is important, prehaps more so than concept
on the web, but does your AJAX get you press coverage? .... I think it
does. The developer in me says "...

I can't use the managed bitrate option in OddCast on my K6II-500 CPU!
(Overclocked to 525, WinXP Pro,192MB RAM). I would like to. Normal VBR
uses about 90% CPU. This seems too

That's funny, because we're doing it all the time with Pentium 2's running
at 233mhz.
44100 samplerate, mono, 56k VBR. ices2. pretty basic setup. no skips.
Prehaps it's an issue with your CPU having poor floating point, or prehaps
its OddCast, or prehaps it was compiled without CPU optimisations, etc. But
we've been doing it for quite some time quite successfully with ices2.

Do you mean the libstdc++-devel package? Or prehaps redhat-lsb-cxx?

CentOS 8.2 / missing libc++ (libcxx-devel)
Hi community,
In CentOS 7 there is such rpm (libcxx-devel - it seems from EPEL
repository), but in CentOS 8 it isn't.
How is it possible to have it there as RPM? because alternative to build it
(libc++) from sources is a big headache (I need it in order to build v9 and
plv8 projects)
Thanks

I believe that you can get plugins for iTunes (OSX) that allow you to play ogg
files. Be aware that this does not mean they will play ogg vorbis streams.

Right. This is why I said "try this with a real client". mp3 metadata is
inline, not in the HTTP headers.

OGG --> MP3 conversion app?
hello all
does anyone know of a utility convert OGG to MP3 and prehapes MP3 to OGG?
While i use ogg for everything on my computer, my discman only plays MP3
files, so a nice program where i can drag and drop folders to reencode
to MP3 would be a very nice thing to have indeed. Kinda like oggdrop but
mp3drop.
if there isn't i might just attempt to write one (...

Work on OggPCM is continuing, the team working on OggPCM2 is free to submit
their own draft but some are not welcome to continue work on OggPCM due to
their recent social conduct.
I'm requesting that the team working on OggPCM2 rename their project to avoid
confusion, prehaps to the four letter "WAVE" which would fill the first 32-bits
as codec magic.
Neither team has produced a "release canidate" draft up for approval by Xiph as
a whole, so both can be considered parrellel projects.

require the codecs to decode the last page in order to find the total

But I'm going to suggest that this is a really good time for such a
discussion to take place, and really, the optimal time for this proposal
to be evaluated (and prehaps) implemented.
Ogg's been around for a long time, and almost exclusivly, has been used
for Vorbis. That's why the recent discussions have resolved that other
codecs could be changed but Vorbis's framing would have to remain with
end-time granulepos.
So since we're about to unl...

Icecast2 YP extention
...but I'd like to propose an extension to the draft now...
with action=add:
banner=URL
This allows the Icecast2 server to supply a URL for a graphical banner
to represent the radio stream instead of just it's name. On the server
end it could fetch this URL, scale/convert it as needed, and prehaps use
it with the name below it... or it could just ignore it.
In addition it appears that part of the YP protocol currently in use is
undocumented, the command that provides the "home url" for the
broadcast. apparently, if not given, this defaults to the URL of the YP
server on oddsock...

Icecast "dropping" YP updates
Ok, we're getting warmer.. but not there yet.
Icecast is no longer eating infinite CPU, no longer gobbling memory..
But we still got a problem. First, Icecast is still re-touching too
frequently (or prehaps several times in a row) on the same streams:

long my names are infact having a name like eposd1_logs is far more
useful than epslt1 or something equally non descriptive. How do I stop
sam3 from doing this? (there has to be an option "Stop support for super

Anyway an answer to this would be nice (I have samba 2.0 machines
running long names and 2.2.8 running equally long names why does sam3 cry?)

Because the fields are /not/ going to be the same for RGB.
RGB has resolution, framerate, prehaps even interlace and aspect ratio...
But chroma subsampling? no. And this is where much of the complexity comes.
If we were to combine them, we would be, essentially, doing it something like

Syslinux Digest, Vol 67, Issue 10
...../../com32/include/dmi/dmi_processor.h:103: error: previous
declaration of 's_cpu_flags' was here
While I can maybe code around this by changing the header files, I
thought I should point this out and ask that, maybe, dmi.h be made
more modular and rely on cpuid.h for CPU information and, prehaps,
retire dmi_processor.h.
Any thoughts on the best way to proceed much appreciated. I'm not
confident in my programming skills to offer much help myself.
Cheers,
