Weird R behaviour?
Dear list,
I have observed a weird behaviour from R --- apologies if I am missing
something obvious!

Help - samba keeps dialing out
Hi,
I have just set up samba on my FreeBSD 4.5 stable box, and have it
integrating quite nicely with windows 2000 server ( not set up as a PDC
), however the FreeBSD server keeps dialing out approx every 10 minutes
or so.
The FreeBSD Server is also acting as a DNS Server ( IPv4 ) and the dial
up is handled through the tunneling device. This has been working fine
until I have installed samba and

General pre-processing prior to feeding sound to speex.
Hi,
I have speex running as a part of a voice conferencing app. Well, one
under development anyway.
I'm running VBR at quality 3 and get a "hissy-squelchy" background
noise. This is fine, kinda, because the internal microphone in the
laptop picks up hiss, the sound of the (actually very quiet) hard drive
and generally speaking is of less than exemplary quality.

I am changing the title because this is really about the history of
anova,
and about strata in analysis of variance. As this kind of question
has been
arising very frequently, an extended comment may be in order.
The ideas, and the sums of squares breakdowns, go back to Fisher; see
in particular his "Design of Experiments", first published in 1935.
This
book is still a good
