...0 initrd=initrd.gz PMEDIA=usbflash i have tried dumping everything (except the syslinux config file) into a directory called linux and putting a /linux/ before everything (ex. default linux/vmlinuz). the problem is that it returns an error "could not find linux/v.mli". it seems that it is predisposed to seeing the file as a 7 character name and thinks that my dir is part of the name. is there anything i could do? perhaps change directories right away and then begin the boot procedure? and how?

OT: systemd Poll
...no dev is really going to voluntarily go through the pain and abuse of implementing something new like this shows that it really was thought to be necessary. I think what is/was the issue is the abrasive way that some of it was done. It seems to have put people's backs up no end and makes them predisposed to find fault with it. It's just different, that's all. It does the job it was designed to do. It even copes with legacy init scripts, so you can still use them if you want. And I remember when these new fangled init scripts first appeared - boy did everyone find them confusing and hated...

Opinions on using CR repository in production environments.
I was wondering what people's opinions are on running the CR repository on production systems? I'm currently predisposed to not do it since it indicates it hasn't fully gone through QA yet. But from my understanding except for the alt-arch systems these are just recompiles of the redhat RPMs after debranding right? I'm Curious how other people are treating this repository since, from the sounds of it, rpms...

PRNG is not seeded
...it from ssh to stderr; there is nothing in any of the files in /var/log, or in the -vv log from rsync. This has happened 6 times in the 12 months, twice in the last week. Pretty rare. Rsync is still doing its job, and completes the task on time and without apparent data corruption. However, I am predisposed to fret about small things, and wonder if the message indicates something needing attention. I am willing to add more debugging flags or recompile code to track this down, but an hour's worth of rsyncing a night is not a good candidate for verbose tools like strace. So I'm wondering if ot...

T1 "access layer" used Cisco or new Digium
...ent. I have great trust in operational stability of both Cisco voice products and Asterisk. So I'm torn somewhat and would be interested in other experiences and opinions. (The money I might save by buying alternatives to Digium cards is not really on the table here, I'm am significantly predisposed to buying Digium T1 cards and would be interested in specific card recommendations). If in isn't obvious, I'm not interested in paying full retail Cisco prices for this project, that's why used Cisco voice products are one choice. (Using SIP providers for the project is also on the ta...

rsync and locking
Hello, I got an issue with rsync and (fcntl) locked files. When rsync tries to sync a file that is opened and locked by another process (that use fcntl write lock), it ends up in Disk Sleep. Then i need to reboot to remove that dead processes (let me now if there's another solution). Is there a way to force rsync to skip locked files ? Here are some facts: Hosts on which this issue has

OT: systemd Poll
According to "Arthur Schopenhauer": "All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." I must admit that I skipped through the first and second stages - I never found creating init scripts a joy and instead opted to write my own scripts that I launched via inittab. As

I can't seem to create mountpoint and change permissions after mounting in 2.7.3
Hi, I''m using puppet 2.7.3 on RHEL/CentOS and I have an issue which is now a big blocking issue within my environment. What I''m trying to accomplish wit puppet is a create a mountpoint, mount a filesystem on it and install an application on that filesystems are set proper user/ group and permissions on it, but it fails big time. The issues I currently run into are about 3
