W2K PDC preconfigured security templates
Plan to use W2K PDC and a couple of Samba 2.2.8 file servers. Has anyone used the preconfigured templates that are shipped with W2K server(basicdc.inf, securedc.inf) on their PDC? Gotchas? Landmines? Necessary Modifications? Hudson __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Platinum - Watch CBS' NCAA March Madness, live on your desktop!

Isolate VMs' network
All, I'm trying to setup a network with some virtual machines, that can connect to each other and to the internet, but neither to the host nor to other VMs. Is there any preconfigured network filter or best-practice for this setup? Of course, I could setup iptables rules on the host, but I'd prefer libvirt to handle them. - Chris

bind vs. bind-chroot
Hi, On my public servers, I usually run BIND for DNS. I see CentOS offers a preconfigured (sort of) bind-chroot package. I wonder what's the effective benefit of this vs. a "normal" BIND setup without chroot. On my Slackware servers, I have a rather Keep-It-Simple approach to all things security, e. g. run no unneed services, open only needed ports etc. but I don't run the extra

Best inode_ratio for maildir++ on ext4
Hi, This might be a silly question: which would be the best inode ratio for a 5 Tb filesystem dedicated to Maildir++ storage? I use ubuntu server, which has a preconfigured setting for mkfs.ext4 called "news" with inode_ratio = 4096, and after formating the fs with that setting and then with the defautl setting I see this difference of space (wasted space, but more inodes): 4328633696

iSCSI initiator iqn
Hi, I could not find any option to set iSCSI initiator iqn while using guestfish, although the underlying qemu command has this option. It appears that each time guestfish tries to connect to iSCSI LUN, a randomly generated initiator iqn is being used. This is preventing guestfish to connect to the iSCSI target in our environment as the target allows incoming connection based on the preconfigured
