Good morning all: When I do a net ads join from FC4 I get the following output and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Also, after I do a kinit, net ads join and smb restart all my windows clients can connect fine. After I reboot the server, the windows clients can not connect until I do another kinit and net ads join. What am I missing? ---> smb.conf file [global] netbios name

Yohoo! We want to authenticate our Cisco admins to freeradius. This should authenticate to our running AD (W2003Srv). Googling for freeradius and AD tells me to use ntlm_auth. For ntlm_auth I need a running winbindd. And kerberos. And there's my problem. Status: I configured the /etc/krb5.conf "kinit admin@MY.DOMAIN" asks for the password and gives me a ticket for one week.

Today, all shares was stopped and then i restarted my Samba4 AD and the file server. All became to work again. But it im afraid because the problem started by itself. Hello, my fileserver (Debian and samba packages 4.2.14+dfsg-0+deb8u9) connected to an AD with one Windows DC and one Samba DC does not renew the Kerberos ticket after 10 hours and I need to rejoin the domain.:( Another server (runs as print server with the same version) does not have this problem. I am having these messages in syslog Kerberos_kinit_password SERVER$@<MY-DOMAIN> failed: Preauthentication failed With this, my winbind is not working, so I need to restart winbind cache (net cache flush), this is happening every 24 hours. Hi *, I use samba 3.2.3 actually and have problems to switch between two nodes in a cluster in an active directory environment. I know of CTDB but I want to keep it simple and so I use a shared folder for the .tdb files. But it does not work since samba 3.2 anymore. After switching from one node to another I have to delete the .tdb files and join again to the domain to have access to samba.

I'm trying to move my current Samba AD DC VM from EXSi vSphere to XenServer (XCP-NG). I was able to export the VM to .OVA file & import it into XCP-NG fine. I was able to open ADUC & the DNS manager in Windows without an issue.
