chi-Squared distribution in Friedman test
...accept or reject null hypothesis. After looking into the source code, I found that R uses chi-sqaured distribution as below:
PVAL <- pchisq(STATISTIC, PARAMETER, lower = FALSE)
but still I cant figure out why they are using this pschisq insted of dchisq. Sorry I am wrong!!
Thanking you

chi-Squared distribution
...But I need to see for chi-sqaured distribution. When I employed the similar formula
outer(1:3, 1:3, function(df1, df2) qchisq(0.95, df1, df2)) , I am getting unexpected results. I need to see the following values:
p=0.750 .....
1 1.323
2 2.773
3 4.108

Plotting the diff. between two curves
...091071
5 0.008680781 1.003591
6 0.010845564 0.948444
7 1.000000000 0.948444
If I plot A and B, I will get two curves. However, is there any method to
find the signed difference between these two curves so that I will have only
one curve which shows the difference between these two curves?
Thanks

Multiple items in the where clause while updating...
...ement that gets generated will be
UPDATE friends SET `sid` = 31, `ftype` = ''F'', `fid` = 3 WHERE id = 1
As you can see the where clause always takes just the id attribute and
ignores others which will try to update muliple rows.
Is there a way to handle this situation?
Thanks

Help in expand.grid() (Restricted combination)
..., n=c(20,25,30,35,40)
but "exaustive" only with d=c(70,75,80,85,90,92,94,96,98,99). Therefore I
will have only 50+10 combinations not 100.
I need to have combination as shown below
1 nearest-neighbor 70 20
2 exaustive 70
3 nearest-neighbor 75 20
4 exaustive 75

Grouping and Averaging in Table
...t col value is 1200
Avg. of all third col. values whose first col value is 1200
Right now, I have a dirty implementation with a lot of "for" loops
and "if" conditions. However, I am looking for some built in
functions and lib. to make the code faster and easier.

Latin hyper cube sampling from expand.grid()
...d". Any
pointers to this issue might be very useful. Basically, I am doing the
following:
> a<-(1:10)
> b<-(20:30)
> dataGrid<-expand.grid(a,b)
Now, is there a way to use this "dataGrid" in the package "lhs" to get
latin hyper cube samples.
Thanking you

remaining ones should take 20%. More precisely, x axis ranges form
1:500 and the idea is to give the snapshot of the first 250 values. I
tried "axis()" and log="x", but I am not getting the required output.

Shorewall and printing problems in the LAN ( loc ) zone
Guys,
Just a quick check. From what i have read in the
shorewall site, intrazone traffic is allowed
completely by shorewall i.e. there is no filtering or
packet size limiting ,etc,etc.
I ask this becos after getting shorewall up and
running well, someone has complained that they cannot
print pdf files larger than 100k at one go but that
they have to print one page at a time.
Some details;

[PATCH 19/21] i386 Kprobes semaphore fix
IA-32 linear address translation is loads of fun.
While cleaning up the LDT code, I noticed that kprobes code was very bogus
with respect to segment handling. Many, many bugs are fixed here. I chose
to combine the three separate functions that try to do linear address
conversion into one, nice and working functions. All of the versions had
bugs.

creating a static route (SUSE 10)
Hi,
We have a shorewall firewall running on SUSE 10. We have three nic''s, Lan, DMZ and Internet. We also have a Cisco Pix 506e. We moved from sending all our traffic through the pix to using the Suse box yesterday. The PIX is in the DMZ, with a connection to the LAN switch, the idea being that VPN users can connect to the pix to the lan.
The Pix is on the 10.0.1.x subnet, the lan is

Unable to access shares with capital letters in OpenSUSE 11.0 using samba-3.2.4

2. Is the samba server version (3.2.4) handling this differently. I do not
suspect this since samba version I used with Ubuntu is 3.3.6.
Thanks in advance for all the help....
