PowerMizer for nouveau
The only way I can get my nvidia card to work is by using the nvidia driver with these settings: Section "Device" Identifier "Videocard0" Driver "nvidia" Option "RegistryDwords" "PowerMizerEnable=0x1; PerfLevelSrc=0x2222; PowerMizerDefaultAC=0x1" EndSection Otherwise, whether I use the nouveau or nivida driver, it locks up after a little use. Is there an equivalent PowerMizer setting in the nouveau driver? Joseph D. Wagner

Bug in cfdisk?
Hi, I'm currently working through Sander Van Vugt's "Beginning the Linux Command Line" (Apress), just for fun. Right now I'm just trying out all the examples in chapter 5, dedicated to managing partitions and logical volumes. After some work with fdisk (which I normally use), the book introduces cfdisk (which I've been using in Slackware days). Curiously enough,

Performance Issues with Games in Wine (EVE Online, TF2)
...id=26237). I am using steam for TF2, of course, and the non-steam version of EVE. I tried running openarena as a point of comparison, and I was consistently getting 90 fps, though this may not be a fair comparison because it didn't seem like a very resource intensive game. I suspected that the powermizer feature of the nvidia graphics driver was at fault, so I did some searching and came across this. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=828369 It forced the powermizer setting of my GeForce 9400 to stay on performance level 3, but did not increase my fps on either game. I also read (I have lost...

Question with nlm
Hi, I would really appreciate if I could get some help here. I'm using nlm to minimize my negative log likelihood function. What I did is as follows: My log likelihood function (it returns negative log likelihood) with 'gradient' attribute defined inside as follows: # ==========Method definition====================== logLikFunc3 <- function(sigma, object, totalTime) { y <-

Firefox slower on GMail since update to CentOS 5.5
Hello, since I upgraded from CentOS x86_64 5.4 to 5.5, I noticed that Firefox has become significantly slower on GMail (or Google Apps Mail). The page becomes slow to scroll as soon as there are more than a few mails in a conversation (like in a typical CentOS mailing list thread). Did anyone else notice that as well? (I guess that I'm not the only GMail user around) Could I have missed

...Hz when clocking to 07 or 0f everything works. however, when clocking to pstate=03 i get constant flickering (maybe <5-10 hz), although the clocks do change, and nothing crashes.
