secrets.tbd going corrupt on powerfailure?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 We're power failing a unit before it goes into production, and we've noticed that every time we fail it during a data transfer, smbd loses the domain connection. I've traced it down to the secrets.tdb file. After a power failure, tdbdump secrets.tdb says: { key = "SECRETS/SID/IN28C29E" data =

root filesystem as ext3
I've turned my root filesystem to ext3 and also changed the filesystem type in /etc/fstab. I initiated a powerfailure and watched booting. But the kernel mounted root filesystem first read only as ext2 and does than a fsck for ext2. The over partition, /boot and /vol1 (also ext3), are handled as ext3. After booting all partitions, also /, were mounted as ext3. But why root is checked as ext2?

SV: Zaphfc.ko module error
...om] On Behalf Of Remco Barende Sent: 18 August 2005 08:54 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] Zaphfc.ko module error Hi! You didn't state what distro you are running but my guess is that you have autoupdate / up2date running. Before the powerfailure the kernel was updated and after the powerfailure the box booted the new kernel for which you need to recompile the module. Cheers! Zaphfc.ko module error
Hi Guys I have been running a test server for a few days now with * 1.0.9 bristuff RC8n. I had a power failure and the test machine was not on the ups. When power was restored I found the following error: FATAL: Error inserting zaphfc (/lib/modules/2.6.11.4-20a-default/misc/zaphfc.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg) My dmesg output: zaphfc: unsupported

Windows NUT Client - Settings description somewhere ?
...ettings for shutdown options in Windows NUT client ? Current setting see screenshot As nothing happened, i did set the first value for battery-threshold to 90%, (while the batt was below) and that then did immediately react with hiberate. My preferred setting would be to wait after powerfailure for 1 minute, then hibernate. Without taking other values into account like batterylevel or batteryruntime? Any help or information on that would be appreciated. Thanks Eddie _______________________________________________ Nut-upsuser mailing list Nut-upsuser at alioth-lists.debian.net &...

Power Failures or Spikes
Hi all, My server is connected to a UPS but whenever there is a power failure or spike it seems that once all the clients come back up they cannot connect. I have to restart the server each time. This is no hardship but I was just wondering if anybody had the same problem and if so and they fixed it, how? Thanks Tom Ansley

searching for ext3 defrag/file move program
Hello everybody, reading about the speed improvements possible with (on boot) preloaded files (which should be continuous on disk) I searched for a ext3 defrag program. I found an ext2 defrag program (http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/filesystems/defrag-0.70.tar.gz, available in debian as defrag) which would have an optimal feature (moving files by a list) but refuses to work on ext3.

encfs on top of zfs
Dear ZFS-Users, I want to switch to ZFS, but still want to encrypt my data. Native Encryption for ZFS was added in "ZFS Pool Version Number 30<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZFS#Release_history>", but I''m using ZFS on FreeBSD with Version 28. My question is how would encfs (fuse encryption) affect zfs specific features like data Integrity and deduplication? Regards
