New Member, saying Hi. :)
...erisk! This book was about that open-source PBX. It was very enlightening and I decided to buy the book so I could learn more. When I got home, I read through a few chapters and I also started looking online to find a download. I somehow managed to find a ready-made "appliance" called PoundKey which I downloaded and installed on my spare PC. Now I got confused because I wasn't sure where to go from the command-line prompt. So, I'm starting over at square one and I am going to download plain-jane Asterisk and get it running on a Knoppix HD installation... I hope. :) Anyway, th...

False hangups with TDM400P and Kewlstart
Hello all! I have tried and tried to resolve this one to no avail. Hopefully one of you can help... The system in question is a Compaq Evo D600 (iirc) business desktop, with a 1.4GHz Pentium 4 and 512mb of RAM, running a stock install of PoundKey 1.2. It has two Digium cards installed: a TDM400P with four FXO modules, and a TE110P hooked to a Carrier Access Adit 600 which serves 8 lines. The system generally sees rather low call volume, with no more than two or three simultaneous calls during regular use. There is no VoIP involved;...

Debian Sarge or CentOS4.3
Looks like I am going to be doing my first serious commercial install of FreePBX. I DO mean serious. They are willing to put up with a few glitches initially which is why I have decided they will be a good first client. I have turned down several over the past couple years because I just did not feel comfortable with the state of software/hardware. It seems to work much better now. I was

How does verbosity work?
I'm trying to track down a CPU spike we are seeing in a system. We have tracked down the spike to a single CPU and TID using that CPU. Indications are that it's asterisk running this TID. I'm trying to figure out what asterisk is doing on this thread around that time, but haven't been able to match the tid to anything I'm seeing in asterisk debugging. Is there a good way to

Two FXO: How to dial a number when a RING comes in?
Hi I'm a little lost on how to set things up with the two FXO cards I have: I want card #2 to dial a number when a call comes in on card #1. Using the following configuration, card #1 picks up the line and remains silent, instead of dialing out through card #2. Anybody knows what's wrong? --------- /etc/zaptel.conf --------- # Zaptel Configuration File # fxsks=1,2 loadzone=fr
