Determine if a given fs is a btrfs fs
Hi,
I''ve some btrfs fs which are encrypted with loopaes.
I decrypt them in a script during bootup. Now I want to determine if the decrypted fs
is a btrfs fs. If not I missspelled the password and I can handle that error in my
script.
Thanks for any help!

File cloning across subvolumes with BTRFS_IOC_CLONE ioctl
It seems that the BTRFS_IOC_CLONE ioctl fails when trying to do a
cross-subvolume clone of a file. Chris Mason suggested in the past ([1])
that this should be possible. Am I missing something?

Feature request
The sshd server has what I think is a serious flaw. There appears to be no way to turn off remote command execution. (someone please correct me if I am wrong).
We have a server which uses a chroot jail, and rbash to severely limit what users can do on our system. The remote command bypasses all of that.
ie. ssh user at host cat /etc/passwd will display the password file for the live system

cross-subvolume cp --reflink
Glück Auf!
I know its been discussed more then ones, but as a user I really would like to see the patch for allowing this in the kernel.
Some users tested this patch successfully for weeks or months in 2 or 3 kernel versions since then, true?
I''d say by creating a snapshot, it''s nothing else in the end. More then one file or tree sharing the same data on disc, or am I wrong?

Problem with memdisk and DOS on USB
I'm new to memdisk and I wanted to have multiple floppy boot images on
my USB key, I installed GRUB2 as the boot loader and have memdisk in
/syslinux and my images in /image, I first tried booting normal
images, memtest86+ works, my linux kernel work and they boot
perfectly.
Now using memdisk, I tried booting Spinrite which uses FreeDOS, it
booted fine with no argument them frozen at querying

NT3.51 slow file access
...reasonable speed. Also, we seem to have
random permission problems when attempting to save files to the doc
partition. (i.e. the user gets a permission denied or disk full error
when attempting to save). I've appended our smb.conf and testparm
dump.
thanks in advance for any assistance,

Hi,
Appears that no one is working on the auto-snapshot feature for btrfs,
so here I am implementing the same.
Below is a draft on the feature list. Any comments / questions /
suggestions are welcome, please do let me know.
btrfs auto snapshot feature will include:

wine and Japanese
Does anyone know if there are any plans to make wine capable of handling Japanese display
and input? I tried running MS Word 98J and got what looked like a
bunch of code-page errors. And menu text doesn't display properly,
which I suppose is due to font problems (same for Japanese notepad and
wordpad).
