Bug#515156: Same bug after removal + reinstall
I ran into the same problem after somebody uninstalled logcheck and I
re-installed it.
It turned out that the ownership of /var/lock/logcheck where root:root -
sudo chown logcheck:logcheck /var/lock/logcheck solved it.
I see that there already is a check for the permissions in the postinst
which (as far as I can see) *should* have fixed the permissions and
ownership there.
When re-installing

Bug#685749: xen-utils-4.1: /usr/lib/xen-default missing
Subject: xen-utils-4.1: /usr/lib/xen-default missing
Package: xen-utils-4.1
Version: 4.1.3-1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
when using paravirtualization with xen and libvirt the path for pygrub is:
/usr/lib/xen-default/bin/pygrub
But this path is not provided with xen-utils-4.1 and will brake upgrades to
wheezy.
With xen-utils-4.0 and debian squeeze this path is provided with

Poll: Does R_PAPERSIZE in /etc/R/Renviron matter?
A heuristic runs via the r-base-core package postinst. It is intended
to use the result from Debian's paperconf(1) toool, and to update the R
environment variable R_PAPERSIZE accordingly. This apparently broke some
time ago when R changed to a dual variable setup, and my regexp didn't
notice.
Does anybody use this, or is it ok if I simply disable this in Debian? In
that case we simply

Bug#287184: logcheck overwriting ownership/permissions of /etc/logcheck/* on upgrades
Package: logcheck
Version: 1.2.32
Severity: important
In postinst logcheck "fixes" permissions of /etc/logcheck/* to 750.
In my (and others on #d-d) opinion ownership and permissions should be
preserved upon package upgrades. Logcheck must not screw with my
decision to make them world readable every time it configures.

Hilko,
This is my experimental patch to remove update-guestfs-appliance from

Samba 4 and Debian
I've wasted the last two days trying to get various versions of samba 4
packages getting to run under Wheezy.
? Wheezy's own packages are incomplete betas.
? Inverse provides their own packages (for SOGo), but they only care
about getting their one use case to work; smbd doesn't work all, winbind
has problems, and the postinst script resets my smb.conf with nonsense.
