HTB at 100+ Mbits/sec
Hello all,
I''ve been trying to test HTB performance for different link bandwidths
to find potential limits and this is what I have so far:
http://home.comcast.net/~msethuraman/htbtest/
Can members please go over the setup, test procedure and the results
and answer a few questions?
1. Is the testing methodology okay and can the results be considered
accurate? If so, is this a decent

Unfortunately Postfix does.
It honors the robustness principle (~Postel's law) and therefore
accepts envelope senders like

or
from=<Gerald<U+FEFF>Smith at nampaichuanlondon.com>
or
from=<Peter???Smith at taotalk.nl>

which are increasingly making rounds.

pivot_root problem on RH7.2
Hello,
I'm new in ext3. I installed RH7.2 with ext3. For a short time it
worked properly, but when I compiled the linux kernel (2.4.9-13) from RH
package, the old kernel didn't boot again (I didn't change anything with
the old binary).
I downloaded kernel 2.4.14 and ext3 patch for this version. After
the compilation and installation I rebooted the system. I got answer

Bug#771441: [PATCH tftpd-hpa] tftpd: don't use AI_CANONNAME and AI_ADDRCONFIG to resolve addresses for bind

If you're running a Real Server, then silently ignoring real problems

The lessons of:

Bug#771441: [PATCH tftpd-hpa] tftpd: don't use AI_CANONNAME and AI_ADDRCONFIG to resolve addresses for bind
...'t make the situation worse here.
So lets agree that there are some situations where the patch is good,
and in all other situations it doesn't hurt. That's a good enough
justification to apply the patch if you ask me.

I admit I didn't read that completely. The abstract says that the
statement "Be liberal in what you accept, and conservative in what you
send" might have negative consequences to long term maintenance. This

Simple pfifo_fast question
Hello,
I use HTB on IMQ, and I would like to use pfifo_fast on my HTB
leafs.
Do I need to add a pfifo_fast qdisc to my HTB class, or this is
the default one?
I tryed to add and I got:
RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument
It looks like pfifo_fast qdisc is not supported on HTB leaf...
Any comments?
Regards,
Thomas

HTB problems
Hello,
I have HTB on IMQ device. My rate does not work as I configured. I
configured 1920kbit/s and I can download only about 290kbit/s (while it
should be the whole bandwidth).
My script:
/sbin/modprobe imq numdevs=1
/usr/local/sbin/tc qdisc del dev imq0 root 2> /dev/null > /dev/null
/usr/local/sbin/tc qdisc del dev imq0 ingress 2> /dev/null > /dev/null
/sbin/ifconfig imq0 down

HTB/IMQ troubles (probably)
Hello,
I use HTB with linux-2.4.20-ac1 and iptables-1.2.7a (pathced for IMQ).
I configured one HTB qdisc on an IMQ device. This qdisc has some classes
(about 5) and all of the classes has qdisc pfifo.
I sometimes got out from my linux (while I was working) and I found in
logs:

Dec 4 11:49:28 core kernel: HTB: quantum of class
