bimodal data
Hi,
Does anybody have a good tip of how to treat bimodal data to perform statistical analyses? My data set ranges from -1 to 1 (any values are posssible in between) and most data are either close to -1 or close to 1. They are the results of a two choice experiment where individuals could choose more than once in either direction and scores were calculated.

Shared folders?
I haven't seen any info on this so I thought I'd ask.
Is there support for shared IMAP folders?
Quite a few people at work subscribe to the Linux Kernel Mailing List.
I thought it would make more sense if there could be a shared LKML
folder that they all could use. This would save disk space.
Is this posssible? If so how?
I am also looking into the idea of doing a local newsgroup of

No password for private network
I'd really like an option "noprivate" or somesuch within the 'authentication'
specification which would not require a password for listener requests originating
from a private network (192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x, etc ).
Is this posssible?

Insert image in Rd documentation files
Hello,
Does anyone know if it is posssible to insert a picture (ps or jpg for example) in documentation files with Rd extension. I guess it's impossible but maybe there is a trick.
Thank you!

ext3-0.0.5d released
Hi,
ext3-0.0.5d.tar.gz is now up on
ftp.uk.linux.org:/pub/linux/sct/fs/jfs/
and ftp.*.kernel.org:/pub/linux/kernel/people/sct/ext3/
as patches against 2.2.18.
This only contains the kernel bits: we're in the process of syncing up
on some e2fsprogs so I'll do another release shortly once we've got
all of the pending changes for the user-mode tools assembled.
This release is mostly

check_box_tag is limited?
Hello all.
Am I going totally nuts here and just want to check (Natch!) something.
A normal check_box has two value posssibilities. One for checked and one
for unchecked, the value gets submitted with a form.
The check_box_tag on the other hand, has a checked_value (Called just
''value'') and for the unchecked value...nothing, zip, nada.
This means that if you submit a form with

I'm still new to R and i experience many difficulties..I'm using vegan
package (R version 2.11) trying to calculate checkerboard units for each
species pair of a matrix. I've prepared the function:
pair.checker=function (dataset) {designdist (dataset,
method="c("(A-J)x(B-J)", terms ="binary", abcd=FALSE)}

[LLVMdev] design question on inlining through statepoints and patchpoints
I've been looking at inlining invokes / calls done through statepoints
and I want to have a design discussion before I sink too much time
into something I'll have to throw away. I'm not actively working on
adding inlining support to patchpoints, but I suspect these issues are
applicable towards teaching LLVM to inline through patchpoints as
well.
There are two distinct problems to

[LLVMdev] design question on inlining through statepoints and patchpoints
The long term plan is a) evolving, and b) dependent on the specific use
case. :)
It would definitely be nice if we could support both early and late
safepoint insertion. I see no reason that LLVM as a project should pick
one or the other since the infrastructure required is largely
overlapping. (Obviously, I'm going to be mostly working on the parts
that I need, but others are always

Password in SSH scrips
Hi,
Suppose my backup server has to copy every day at the end of the night,
all files from the Web Server. So every day I will have a script that
copies files using SCP.
I USE HP-UX .
But this script must work without anyone entering passwords. I know that
SCP will need Passwords. How can I make a script with this feature ? Using
keygen ?
If posssible, describe with details how

Changing menuselect values from CLI and not TUI
Hi All,
I'm in the process of writing an install script and I would like to change some settings for the install process but I don't want the user to go into menuselect and make the changes manually.
Is there a way to make the changes to menuselect from the CLI?
As an example, selecting the iLBC codec.

Modules, namespaces and variables
Hi there,
After quite a long time out of puppet business I''m back, and the first thing
I''m doing is rephrasing my puppet manifests using modules. I started with
the NTP module (a classic, I guess). I have (more or less) the following:
In modules/ntp/manifests/init.pp:
$ntp_localtime = "/usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Madrid"
class ntp {
... some stuff using the
