Passing a password from a program to ssh
...ld be typed in. If an error occurs
(protocol error or so) the programm must reconnect to the server and
reestablish the connection. If I fork the SSH program again, it will
require the password to be typed into the console again. But as
daemon there is no shell and it will fail.
So, is there a possiblilty to pass the password e.g by using stdin or
any other method which is secure?

multiple sid's one uid
Howdy all,
Does anyone have any good advice for trying to serve to windows clients
in a two domain enviroment? There is the possiblilty of users connecting
with the same username and password from two different domains. As the
accounts are generated from an ldap server, the identical usernames in
the two domains share a single uid.
Point being since the samba server is in one domain, it assumes that the
username connecting fro...

Voicemail File permissions
...e share root access. What I need is for the voice
mail files to be created with a group other than root and with 770
permissions. From what I can tell, the only way I can do this is to
patch the voicemail application. However, this means re-patching every
time I update from CVS. It there any possiblilty that the create group
and default permissions for the voicemail files and folders could be
made options in the voicemail.conf file?

I regret letting down those of you who depend on Shorewall. But look at it
this way -- you have the source for all of the code that you run and it''s
all written in a very simple programming language. And there was always the
possiblilty that I would walk in front of a bus.
... and you have to admit that the price was right :-)
Shorewall will always be a part of my life that I look back on with fondness.
As always,

MS Access and RAID
Hi,
We have been having a few problems with a M$ Access DB held on a Samba server
Samba version: samba-2.2.4-2N1
We have rebuilt a new server, and transferred the database over to the new
box, along with word/excel docs etc. Everything is working fine, except the
access database, which is running very very slowly (can be over a minute to
open a record).
Details are a little sketchy, but it
