[Bug 220] sshd fails to read other users authorized_keys over nfs as root
...------------------ Status|REOPENED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED ------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2005-02-02 12:10 ------- The realpath() in the compat library has been updated to use fchdir if available. Possessors of systems with realpath implementations that don't work are advised to "./configure --with-cflags=-DBROKEN_REALPATH" and report the brokenness by opening a bugzilla bug against the platform in question, so it can be added to the blacklist. ------- You are receiving this mail beca...

glibcc < 2.2 how do I tell?
Hi, I'm looking over the Wine documentation, and it says that the particular version that looks like it will work with my version of RedHat 7.1 will only work if the glibcc is 2.2 or above. How do I tell? I"m a newbie and not sure exactly what the glibcc is. TIA

Match directive can't recognize capital letters
Hi, There seems to be an issue when using `Match` and `Hostname` directives including capital letters. e.g. # .ssh/config # # Match host remotehost # User alice # Host remotehost # User bob # ssh remotehost #=> Apply "User alice" # .ssh/config # # Match host RemoteHost # User alice # Host RemoteHost # User bob # ssh RemoteHost # =>

Wrong permissions for $HOME
Hi, today me and a friend of mine spent several hours figuring out why ssh still asked for a password after we set up public key authentication. We have tried to understand the problem by reading 'ssh -vvv ...', but unfortunately the output was not useful. In the end of the day we have found out that sshd actually was logging this problem.... So that's for the context. Now, can you

Flag to turn off host-key check
Let me start by saying that I think OpenSSH is a great tool and thanks to everyone contributing to it's existence. However, I have a request: I'd like to have a flag that ignores the check of the host key. I'm fully aware of that this opens up for man-in-the-middle attacks and that there is a risk of lazy users mis-using this feature, but it would be very useful for us using SSH in a

optimal cut off with Epi package
Dear all, I would like to calculate the optimal cut off (threshold) of a test using the Epi package. Here I am presenting some data based on the output of two tests. I am interested in identifying the optimal cut off an its 95% CI. Running the ROC() function with the Epi package I obtain a nice picture that returns what I interpret as the optimal cut off with lr.eta=0.431. would be this the

only root without password
Hi all, I have a very strange problem with the public key authentication with 2 machines. I generated the key, configured the authorized_keys etc.. etc.. This is all ok, now: The ssh works without the password for the "root" user, any other user cannot use the key and ssh ask me for the password !! I cannot understand why only the root is able to connect without the password. So, the ssh

Openssh + AFS
The native authentication methods of openssh are (not counting insecure RhostsRSAAuthentication) 1) public key 2) password For users with home dirs in AFS space, method 1) does not work. Except with (non foolproof) fiddling on the access controls within the home directory. This might lead to security issues when done by inexperienced users. Without some work, only 2) remains. CentOS Server Backup Options
What do you guys recommend for backing up a small CentOS server in a business environment. It will have (3) 300gb drives in a raid 5 array but I don't anticipate more than about 25gb of data that needs to be backed up each night. I want a lot of backups with a rotation scheme that included daily, weekly, and monthly copies. I want the daily copies of the data kept until the next week, and
