I apologise in advance if this is a daft question, but I've been battling GLMMs for a while in R 2.1.1 and keep getting bizarre degrees of freedom appearing. For instance, using the example data attached and a simplified model from the one I need, I have: binary choice data, fixed factors = PositionIndex and Treatment and random factor = Name nested within treatment.
