Protocol 2 remote port forwarding
...col 1 not ssh protocol 2.
I've read that remote forwarding protocol 2 was not supported in earlier
versions of openssh, but I'm wondering if this is still the case. Jarno
Huuskonen [Jarno.Huuskonen at uku.fi], posted a patch in 2000 to add support
for -R in protocol 2.
Is -R supported in portocol 2 in openssh?
If so, is any special configuation needed?
Thanks!

Dovecot 2.0 config bug with SSL certificate per protocol?
...ovecot from 1.2 to 2.0.11. I'd seen that there was
a config file converter to make the upgrade smooth so was expecting it to
be pretty quick and easy. In the end I spent a long time trying to get it
working as it just wouldn't listen on the ssl ports, imaps and pop3s. I am
using per portocol SSL certificates, as I was in version 1.2. The part of
my config is as follows (as generated by doveconf):
protocol imap {
imap_client_workarounds = delay-newmail tb-extra-mailbox-sep
mail_plugins = fts fts_squat
ssl = yes
ssl_cert = </usr/local/etc/ssl.crt/imap.crt
ssl_key =...

Bridges, ebtables and OpenVPN [non member]
Hi all,
I''m trying to use OpenVPN as a VPN solution on a firewall running
Shorewall. The IPSEC VPN I tried first has shown a little bit unstable
under several conditions, especially with Windows clients.
As OpenVPN is best run in ''bridged'' mode (see
http://fedoranews.org/contributors/florin_andrei/openvpn/), I became
interested in the bridge capabilities of

Open SSH End-of-Life Schedule?
Sorry, I should have been more clear. Just wondering in general if there is a policy, not as any kind of library. Below are more examples from that website of tools, servers and services. It?s possible there still isn?t a timeframe but wondering about general end-of-life expectations even if there have been only cursory discussions.

Open SSH End-of-Life Schedule?
...T is a fun one, having gotten bitten a couple of times over the years with older playbooks/roles not working on newer Python etc. Yes, I want/need indications on how long and which systems I'll have to redo and which I should not upgrade to keep the lights on.
OpenSSL/GnuTLS/LibreSSL: as newer portocols are introduces, and old protocols shown to be weak etc., you will have incompatibilities with applications with "major" version changes, and thus you want the minor versions to be running as long as possible with security patches when required, but at least the apps that (dynamically?) l...
