hard links on samba shares
Hello! I'm encountering a bug with samba shares, rsync and hard links. I was trying to investigate why on my "linksys" samba share i wouldn't get any hard link transferred and rsyncs to it would take forever. To keep a long story short, here's the output of the command, which should be pretty explanatory :-) mount says that: //192.168.0.105/DISK on /samba/linksys type

Normality Test on several groups
Hi, I use ks.test or lillie.test to verify a normal distribution. It's performed for a group My users use SigmaStat software and a One Way ANOVA on several groups In the result page there is a probability value to determine if Normality test is failed or passed So, how can i retrieve this probability value on several groups? Is there another function in R to verify normality on several

migrating from specialized qpopper
I'm hoping to migrate to dovecot from qpopper, with the eventual goal of enabling IMAP. However, my qpopper installation is fairly specialized, so I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone could get me headed down the best path. Here's the situation. I'm running FreeBSD and have a virtual domains setup with an extremely hacked LDA to do delivery to mailboxes within hashed

POP3 Dovecot Auth CPU usage 75%+
Hello all, I hope someone can help me, I have been testing out Dovecot to switch from popa3d which I use at the moment. When I get several users connecting and disconnection multiple times, the Dovecot process with command Auth uses 50-90% of the CPU for the period which they are connecting. I am wondering if there is something that I may have misconfigured, or if there is something that I can

substituting level for NA in factor column
Greetings I have a bunch of NAs in a column of categorical variables designating the size classes (e.g., smallest to largest: 1,2,3,4) of cave crickets. I'd like to substitute "U" (for unknown) for the NAs. Can anyone give me an idea how to do this? Thanks in advance. unloading compiled code.
I have a package that I'm developing that I need to unload the library. Long story short I figured out that the leaving the compiled code loaded lead to a segmentation fault, but unloading the code will fix it. I've read the documentation and it appears that there are several ways to do this? What is the popper accepted current standard for unloading compiled code? The options as I

Months in alphabetical order rather than chronological order in graph
Greetings Though I have months in chronological order in my data table, the data were sampled every other month (i.e., February, April, June, August, October, December), every time I try to plot them (on the x-axis) they are plotted in alphabetical order. What am I missing? Cheers Kurt *************************************************************** Kurt Lewis Helf, Ph.D. Ecologist EEO

How reliable is XFS under Gluster?
Hello, I am in the point of picking up a FS for new brick nodes. I was used to like and use ext4 until now but I recently red for an issue introduced by a patch in ext4 that breaks the distributed translator. In the same time, it looks like the recommended FS for a brick is no longer ext4 but XFS which apparently will also be the default FS in the upcoming RedHat7. On the other hand, XFS is being

remove numbers from string of characters
Greetings I want to remove numbers from a string of characters that identify sites so that I can merge two data frames. For example, a site in one frame is called "001a Frozen Niagara Entrance" whereas the same site in the other data frame is called "Frozen Niagara Entrance". It seems to me the easiest thing to do would be to remove the numbers from the first data

R-help Digest, Vol 91, Issue 21
All Is there a script in R equivalent to the "if then" transforms one can perform in Systat? For example, I want to create a "Treatment" column coded either 1 or 2 for twelve field sites in a large data set. Ideally, I'd be able to tell R to code sites a-f as 1 and sites g-l as 2. unable to send mails via postfix/dovecot SASL
Hello, I have a freshly setup postfix/dovecot mail server (after a server upgrade I decided to change my sendmail/popper conf to something more modern :) It mostly works, there is no problem in sending/receiving mails in local network, both using text clients like mutt or pine dealing with the incoming/outcoming mail directly. Also dovecot works fine with SSL authentication from the outside
