Split column of concatenated data
...problem is that there are an inconsistent number of comma separated entries in the original Name column so I cannot do gene.info.split<-as.data.frame(strsplit(RG$genes$Name,",",fixed=TRUE)) because I get the error message Error in data.frame(c("OligoCy3", "SP Control poplar 48pin", "A24", "no length information" : arguments imply differing number of rows: 4, 6, 5, 1 I also can't figure out how to usefully put the [list] data into a matrix (my ignorance I am sure). MIT vs GPL vs LGPL for open source project
I intend to release a project I wrote with Rails. What is the right licensing scheme for a web application (content managing system) which could grow with plugins and add-ons ? Personally, I would prefer the GPL but does that mean any add-on to the CMS (like task management) will have to be GPL ? If some people contribute to the code could it still be double-licenced so that the people who

single-table inheritance and select
I''m getting some weirdness trying to use a select widget to choose the type from a collection of three objects sharing a database table via single-table inheritance (STI). I''d be grateful for any advice on whether it''s a bug or a feature, if a feature why and how I can more easily do what I''m trying to do. So I have the usual STI setup, with a
