median polishing
Hi,
In SPlus there is a function called "twoway" for median polishing gridded
data. Is there an equivalent function in R? I have been searching for it
in R help without much success. Your help is much appreciated.
Cheers

Hello dear useRs and wizaRds,
I am currently developing a package that will enable to use administrative map of Poland in R plots. Among other things I wanted to include region names in proper Polish language so that they can be used in creating graphics etc. I am working on Windows and when I build the package it is complaining about non-ASCII characters R code files.

Extracting results from a median polish
Quick question from a new user to R,
How do I extract my solution of a median polish matrix from R to a spreadsheet file such as .csv?
>From my reading of my guide book (R for SPSS and SAS users version 2), I deduce that exporting a file to .csv would look like the following:
write.csv(medpolish, file ="outfilename.csv", row.names = FALSE) ,

Non-english fonts in plots
Hello to all
I've got a question concerning use of fonts while making plots in R. I
wanted to know if it is possible for me to use polish letters in functions
like text() title() etc. Looked up characters, which can be obtained via
Hershey(), but there are none of them.
I made plots using postscript(), pdf() or png() device to export them to
MSWord or LaTeX.

unicorn 0.97.0 - polishing and cleaning up
Unicorn is an HTTP server for Rack applications designed to only serve
fast clients on low-latency, high-bandwidth connections and take
advantage of features in Unix/Unix-like kernels. Slow clients should
only be served by placing a reverse proxy capable of fully buffering
both the the request and response in between Unicorn and slow clients.

Ingress and polishing
Hi,
We are using kernel 2.4.24, tcng version 10b.
I''m trying to do some policing in the ingress queue of the internet
device. Until now we had configured some filters dividing traffic into
queues, and on these queues the Double Leaky bucket meter was applied.
The idea is to have a minimum of bandwidth assigned per class (the cir
values) and a maximum (pir values), just as with the

Effect.Poof, needs polishing
http://kevin.is-a-geek.net/projects/poof
Right now I store a few properties (background, border) and restore them on
completion. I''d much prefer to handle this another way, perhaps setting the
opacity of the containing element to 0 and setting the contained image
element''s opacity to 1. Playing around with this though, I found that it
didn''t happen in order like

Polishing my geom_bar for publication
Dear list,
I am new with ggplot2 and I have spend quiet some time putting together the following code to create the attached plot. However there's still a few things that I'm having trouble with!
I would be grateful if someone can tell me how to fix (1) the colour of my bars into grey scales (2) removing the y-axis (species name) on the right figure to avoid duplication, and (3) fix the

using function boot
Dear R Users,
I am trying to use the function boot of the boot package to sample from a dataframe of two character variables (N=1127). Each character variable can take five different values. Here is an example of the data:

an unusual use for R
I thought some of you might be amused by this.
In my non-work time, I'm an avid weaver and teacher of weaving. I'm
working on a project involving creating many detailed weaving
patterns, so I wrote R code to automate it.

Detailed description of problem in Poland
Hi guys,
Here is a bit more detailed information of my problem:
If I connect Asterisk PBX to the Polish telco via E1, I don't get any red alarms or anything. The line seems to be fine and the inbound calls are also accepted by the Asterisk. However, whenever I try to make an outbound call, the call is either stuck (Asterisk just displays Called g1/482.... and then nothing), or I get the

some data containing Polish accentuated characters (like ????),

data frame to array
Aloha all,
I have a data frame with 4 columns. The first three are factors (f1,
f2, f3) and the fourth is numeric. I'd like to explore these data
using median polish. To do that I plan to use medpolish() on the
matrix[f1,f2xf3], then medpolish on the resulting matrix[f2,f3]. This
approach is described by Cook on page 141 of Exploring Data Tables,
Trends, and Shapes.
