CUPS Windows point'n'click driver installation
...ello all,
Attempting to setup print server.
OS: Ubuntu 14.04
Samba: 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.3
Setup basic server following: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_as_a_print_server
Works as expected (i.e. must manually specify driver when installing via Windows, but the share works).
Setup point'n'click Windows drivers: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configuring_Point_n_Click_Automatic_Printer_Driver_Deployment
Worked perfectly for drivers that could be selected from the pre-populated Windows menu.
However, for any drivers which I try to install via "Have Disk", I ge...

These drivers seem not to support to be uploaded via the Add Printer
Wizzard. This isn't related to Samba. If you try uploading the driver to
a Windows host by pointing to the ntprint.inf, the list of drivers stays
also empty.
You should ask Lexmark, if they have a driver supporting point'n'print
upload.
Or you can try to integrate the drivers manually:
* If I installed the driver locally on a Win7 computer, all neccessary
files are copied to %Wind...

OS: SLES9
Samba: 3.0.28-0.4.3

Client: Windows XP Pro SP2 (+latest Updates), German version, so some
translations maybe not correct ;-)
Hi @all,
a couple of month ago I installed few printers including point'n'click
drivers for the windows clients.
Since last week the printers HP LaserJet 1150 and 1160 making
problems. If I try to print a test page from the client printers
properties dialog I receive the message "Unable to print. Do you like
to see the print problem solving dialog?"....

R-alpha: R 0.50.a3 problem with `make tests'
Not really important, but ... `make tests' fails if a user's .Rprofile
asks for libraries which are not found by the binary in the compilation
tree (yes I know, we're here perhaps the only ones who use private
libraries ...).
Perhaps we should have options
--no-site-file
--no-init-file
which inhibit the loading of a global and a user's init file?

Programming Tools CTV
...itions to the reproducible research
task view that fall into a grey area (to me at least).
For example, roxygen2 is a tool that broadly enable reproducibility
but I see it more as a tool for better programming. I'm about to check
in a new version of the task view that includes packrat and
checkpoint, as they seem closer to reproducible research, but also
feel like coding tools.
There are a few other packages that many would find useful for better
coding: devtools, testthat, lintr, codetools, svTools, rbenchmark,
pkgutils, etc.
This might be some overlap with the HPC task view. I would think...

brainfart #67453 - hyper-index
I don''t know if this has been suggested before but..
What about adding support for a bookmark or
hyperlinked index?
The idea is that a large compilation such as a long
speech or an album would be maintained as a single
file, but on playback, the player would show numerous
''tracks'' which are really just bookmarks relating to
starting position of the specific part or
