using color coded colorbars for bar plots
Hello R Fundi,
The poetic title of this post is a request for help in regard to a
"simple" plotting question.
I have displayed the mean observations of a series variables using
barplot(). On the same figure I have colored the bars to represent the
Standard deviation of each variable using color.scale(). Now I...

destroy vs delete
what is the difference between destroy and delete in AR
I am not sure what they mean by
"Destroys the record with the given id by instantiating the object and
calling destroy<http://api.rubyonrails.com/classes/ActiveRecord/Base.html#M000866>(all
the callbacks are the triggered). If an array of ids is provided, all
of them are destroyed."

[Asterisk-Dev] presence and IM again, want to develop a working "hack"
...ld do would be to
handle presence and IM and pass everything else on to Asterisk (as far
as I know, SER can't pass traffic through it. I need the data to pass
through the SIP server, since machines in my network topology don't
see each other, it's a star with Asterisk in centre -- quite poetic
indeed:). Any ideas, pointers to similiar configurations, ... are
welcome.
c.) If there is no solution to start with, is it possible to
implement it only to chan_sip? I'm not familiar with Asterisk source
code at all. Where are the places to look (in chan_sip.c) which are
best to hook this c...

Clang project renamed
Hi everyone,
There are a number of issues with the current name of the Clang project:
* It is prone to incorrect type setting, typically as CLang, CLANG, or
most commonly c̦҉̫̘̺̹̖̗͒͆͋̈̃̇߯l߲҉̷̡̰̖͈̤̺͒҆̾̚͡͝a̺̹͍̔߭͠ͅn͋́͡g̱߫̉
* The C++ compiler ends in the string "g++", which causes problems for
compiler wrapper scripts
* The name has been used by a kickstarter project

Poesia
Hola!
Sorry for going off-topic, but here are
something I found on the web
yesterday - an explanation of
statistics in poetic form:
First, you see your data for what they seem to be
Then, you ask them for the truth - are you what you seem to me?
You see with broad expanse
you ask with narrowed power
you see and ask and see
and ask and see... and ask
With brush you paint the poss...

Fwd: Typo in the FAQ at http://wiki.centos.org/FAQ/CentOS6, /etc/sysconfig/nertwork-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 should be /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
...rface ( normally /etc/sysconfig/nertwork-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 ) and
toggling ONBOOT=no to ONBOOT=yes."
The filename given there
/etc/sysconfig/nertwork-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
is wrong, it should be
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
or /etc/sysconfig/nerdwork-scripts/ifcfg-eth0, if you feel poetic ;)

RC2 and bass
Well, this may not be unique to RC2. I believe this is the first time I
have noticed it. It is definitely the first time I have vorbis encoded
this song.
Try encoding They Might Be Giants - Istanbul. Go to offset around 50
seconds. It should say "Maybe people just like it better that way."
However, the maybe is pretty bassy (low pitch) and is just gone.
Anyway, RC2 is so much

EPS
Perhaps this has been mentioned and I wasn't paying attention. When I try to
import a postscript file (which is EPS according to the R help on postscript) my
Framemaker filter chokes. If I simply edit the first line of the file to put
%!PS-Adobe-3.0 EPSF-3.0
rather than
%!PS-Adobe-3.0
it works just fine. It sure would be simpler if the postscipt driver put this in
the file.

Controlling SO_RCVBUF
I have a customer who is complaining about slow SFTP transfers over a long haul connection. The current transfer rate is limited by the TCP window size and the RTT. I looked at HPN-SSH, but that won't work because we don't control what software the peer is using. I was thinking about coding a much more modest enhancement that just does SO_RCVBUF for specific subsystems. In the interest

rspec groups?
One of the things I really liked about TestNG was the grouping
feature. Are there any plans for rSpec to incorporate that? Is there
any way to emulate that functionality in rspec?
Will.
