how to count the total number of (INCLUDING overlapping) occurrences of a substring within a string?
Last one for you guys: The command: length(gregexpr('cus','hocus pocus')[[1]]) [1] 2 returns the number of times the substring 'cus' appears in 'hocus pocus' (which is two) It's returning the number of **disjoint** matches. So: length(gregexpr('aa','aaa')[[1]]) [1] 1 returns 1. **What I want to do:** I'm looking for a...

moving onto returning a data.frame?
...main/scan.c file and didn't find many comments in the code that would benifit a newbie. Does anyone have a good example (from some of the packages?) for returning a data.frame. I'm trying to start my function so that it takes a data.frame as an argument and returns a data.frame (post-hocus-pocus). Here's my function so far... SEXP testfunction3( SEXP m_in ) { int *mdims, n, p, i; double *mm; SEXP m_out; SEXP nms; if( !isMatrix( m_in ) ) { error("m_in must be a matrix"); } mdims = INTEGER( GET_DIM( m_in ) ); n = mdims[0]; p = mdim...

selinux commands fail on low memory box
...er two hosts I can run the same commands with only as little as 30 or 40MB free! So would this be some inherent flaw with this box? That the only way to get around it is to scrap it and build a replacement? Not that hard to do. But before I took that measure I was wondering if there was any hocus-pocus I could try that I might not be aware of that could alleviate this scenario. P-value from the joint cumulative distribution of an n-dimensional order statistic
Hello, I want to compute the P-value from the joint cumulative distribution of an n-dimensional order statistic in R, using the formula found on http://cmgm.stanford.edu/%7Ekimlab/multiplespecies/Supplement/methods_network.html My data consists of three different techniques (G2D, POCUS and RANDOM), and each has associated with it a number of rankings (integer between 0 and 1000), like for example: name r1 r2 r3 r4 r5 r6 r7 r8 r9 r10 1 G2D 939.100 929.400 919.700 910.100 784.200 387.300 377.600 87.130 18.390 17.430 2 POCUS 910.876 910.876 753.944 753.944 0.235 0.208 0.160 0.160...

After retrieving a URL using an Ajax.Request... function onComplete (request, json) { // request.responseText holds the entire page Only the content contained in elementID = ''source'' is intended for display At this time, the following code works, but it disturbingly copies the entire page from the source URL into the target DIV $(''target'').innerHTML =

It was the phrase "*HOCUS POCUS*" which gave me initiial insight into the reason for the loss of reality and the more victorious sounding two letter ensembles; specifically the idea that "magic" has a special meaning in the context of virtual reality vs. simulated or actual reality--that it's quite literally /t...
