Pegasus - No Internet Options
...rom wine.org
hoping it would resolve an ongoing problem with the Windows Pegasus email
program.
Pegasus loads fine, address books and identities all there but the
Internet Options is greyed out.
I've tried enabling and disabling the winsock32.dll option, I've tried
suggestions of deleting pmail.cfg and winpm-32.manifest.
I've tried running Pegasus from the original c:\pmail directory as well as
a version installed within my /home/.wine/ folder.
Both load fine with what appear all functions except the Internet Options,
without which it is unusable for me.
I have successfully run an...

Pegasus and Users
My first attempt at using Wine within Ubuntu to run my favourite email
program - Pegasus - resulted in a problem.
Pegasus is preinstalled on windows98, I gave the correct filepath and
everything appeared to be loading well until it asked for a 'user'.
Gave my normal Pegasus username and got the error message that the
user does not exist.
Tried various permutations of upper and lower

Pegasus Mail - runs slow - tuning wine?
PMail 4.6 does function okay, but slowly.
it's most apparent when looking at a "lazy html" auto sent message.
the icon buttons all seem to re-set themselves in sequence, not dissimilar to my old pc with the winxp desktop items gradually appearing, due to lack of mem.

Group logon Scripts
We're almost at the stage of rolling out our new RH6.1/Samba server -
one last item. We have some 60 users and 7 departments. Can I use/how
do I use a logon script to log groups onto the server. I currently have
1 logon script per user, but a small change in 1 share means updating
every script. Can I log them on by group ID but still map
their personal shares with the %U flag so I then

backing up IMAP server on a hard drive
Hi,
I am trying to back up my IMAP server to a hard drive. Later I intend to
extract all mails for attachments. What do you reckon is the best too to
perform this ?
Imapsync or Thunderbird (or something else, please recommend)
One problem I am having with imapsync is the setting for host2 (being a
localhost computer).
How does one set a parameter for host2 being a desktop computer.
Thanks

Wine - Launching Programs
...ia wine but am
getting a wee bit confused running my email program.
I have my original windows installation accessible from Linux, I also
have a copy under /home/.wine and also on a USB stick.
In order to use my most up to date version I have altered the
filepath (eg wine /media/windows/system/pmail/winpm-32.exe -Z 12 but for
some reason the same program file appears whatever filepath I use - I can
tell by the date of the messages.
Am I doing something obviously wrong here

Tuning for Pegasus Mail
I have a big performance Problem when using Pegasus Mail storing it's
Mail on on an samba Share.
I assume PMail does write small blocks of data when saving files. The
same performance degeneration is seen when copying files with "type file
>copy" instead of using the copy Command.
Client OS is Windows-Vista, Server is Samba Samba 3.3.4
Any Hints to optimize samba here?

Does R have a command for sending emails?
Is there a way to have an R program send an email?
Something like this:
address <- 'abc at d.com'
text <- 'This is the email body'
send.email(address, text)
Thanks.

Dovecot LMTP mixing up users on multi-recipient mail
Hi,
I've upgraded a mailstore from Debian Jessie (aka oldstable) with
Dovecot 2.2.13 to Debian Buster (next stable) with Dovecot 2.3.4.1
today. It worked pretty well, except that we're seeing error messages
very similar to this old thread
https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2015-July/101396.html
It appears to be happening when a mail with multiple recipients on this
message store is

You could run Mercury/32 http://www.pmail.com/ as a local IMAP server that
could be your 'desktop destination'.
Though I'd assume the typical backup solution for a smaller environment
would probably use rsync (unless your server is a VM, then you could image
the whole VM via whatever utilities the host provides).
