Plugins? Components?
Hi, Newbie here :) Can someone help explain the difference between "plugins" (put in the /vendor/plugins directory) and "components" (put into the /components directory)? Is it just that "plugins" have an init.rb file that is automatically loaded? Also, how can I dynamically find out which files/controllers are available in the /components directory? Thanks,

Java and help.start() search engine
The latest Sun Java release is jre-1_5_0, and unlike the recent versions of j2re-1_4_2-0[2345], this one does work with Firefox 1.0PR, Mozilla 1.7.3 and Netscape 7.1 (and hopefully other Mozilla-based browsers). >From http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/faqs/java.html: Java Runtime Environment 5.0 has been released, and fixes many problems users are having with Java. R-2.1.0 search engine works with mozilla browser but not firefox
I'm running R-2.1.0 on a Linux box and found that the HTML search engine help would not work with Firefox 1.0.3 but would work with Mozilla 1.7.7. I have Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0_02 installed. With Firefox, when I launch help.start() and click to the search engine, it brings up the first page with "Applet SearchEngine started" in the status bar, but clicking on one of the

Having trouble getting Edge Rails running
Hello, I''ve been playing with this for hours, and got through a couple glitches (e.g. updating to Ruby 1.8.4) but this one is well beyond my N00b skills. When trying to run script/server I get: ./script/../config/../vendor/rails/activesupport/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:87:in `as_load_path'': stack level too deep (SystemStackError) from

Problem with ruby 1.8.4 One-Click Ruby Installer on windows
Hi! Previously i had ruby 1.8.2 (One-Click Ruby Installer) installed, but the rdoc and plugindoc didn''t work, so i decided to install ruby 1.8.4. I had uninstalled ruby 1.8.2 (uninstaller deleted the whole ruby folder with radrails and everything, just great) and installed One-Click Ruby Installer 1.8.4-16 preview3. Then installed rails, rmagick, radrails, created docs for trunk v...
