Win2K Printer "Access Denied" Error
Hello, I have a new RH 7.2 installation (kernel 2.4.7-10) with Samba 2.2.1a and I can't print from my Win2K box. I get an "Access denied: unable to connect" error from the printer entry in Windows. The logs don't seem to be helping me. Here's my smb.conf file: [global] workgroup = MYGROUP server string = Samba SMB Server interfaces = 192.168.1.1/24 127.0.0.1/24 hosts

Problems Printing w/ Caldera OpenServer
I am having problems getting Samba configured so I can print. I am going from Windows XP to Samba. I don't get any error messages in Windows saying that there is a problem. It sends the document then that is it. It is like the document gets lost. I am able to print through Linux and WebMin. What should I look at next? I am using the latest version of Caldera OpenServer. I believe the version

Cannot install Matlab 5.3 R11
Hi everybody: Thanks for reading. I'm a Linux Debian Lenny user. I'm trying to install Matlab 5.3 R11 through wine-1.0.1-174-gc4039bd. The SETUP.EXE runs correctly. The problem is when I enter the PLP (Personal License Password) required. I'm sure that the PLP is correct, but "matlab says not". The message is: "The PLP you have entered is incorrect. Check your PLP starts with the release number (11) and then reenter it". And, of course, I cannot continue the installation....

No print to Samba (Linux) printer from Win98
I'm stuck. I have Samba running on my Red Hat 7.2 Linux box. I can mount by remote dirctory on the Linux box via Samba. But I can't print to the Linux printer. I have a Linux printer installed and I can print to it using lpr. I have a printer configured in Samba and can see that from the Win98SE box. I've clicked on the Samba printer name and configured a Win98 printer.

Printing to FreeBSD server from XP using samba
A couple of days ago I set up my printer on my FreeBSD server and set it up so I could print from my FreeBSD client. This all works very well, printing from botht the server and the FBSD client. However, I also have samba set up for file serving with an XP box. I have been trying for quite some time now to set samba up to enable me to print from the XP client. My situation at the moment is that

Hello, i've some problems with the plp printer spooler on linux: I changed from bsd printing to plp printing. Previously (with bsd style printing) i was able to browse and delete active printjobs, stop and activate printers from within the win9x/winnt boxes. After changing to plp this is no longer possible. windows client use Linux printer
Hi, Well, my previous attempt to get info on that matter was lame and therefore no one replied. Here is a second attempt. I need info about how to configure samba server and the windows (2000) client to use a printer on the samba server machine. I read the article: http://de.samba.org/samba/ftp/docs/htmldocs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.html#AEN833 but all I got from it was confusion. I need a

No network management of print jobs possible
...ts and everything works fine. The only problem is, that users can?t manage (kill, resume,...) their print jobs once the print jobs are sent to the samba printer. When I read docs and books, it sounds that it?s possible to manage print jobs over network. As printing system I have "lpq command = plp", and printing works fine with 2 printers. Do I need additional client software and where I get it? The clients have only installed TCP/IP and Microsoft Client. Interesting answers would be great! Thanks Jens
