I'm running 2.2.36.1 under Solaris 10 (patched to current) on
UltraSPARC. There's plenty of memory, plenty of swap, and plenty of
disk, but this is a fairly busy mail server.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm guessing I have to
increase a vsz_limit somewhere, but where? It's not clear to me exactly
what is running out of what here. The output of doveconf -n...

Long tar -x: Box Shuts Down
My Centos 5.2 box shuts itself down during a
long tar -x. There is plenty of disk available.
This is new; it worked in the past.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike.

Mongrel dying daily with Ruby 1.8.6
...each morning when I wake up there''s a big problem:
1. Accessing the site returns a "500 Internal Server Error"
2. All the mongrel_rails processes are still running, but none of
them are active (when I run top)
3. Lighttpd and pound are still running nicely
4. There''s plenty of free RAM
5. There''s plenty of free HD
6. When I restart mongrel, it all starts working again
I haven''t seen anything like this before. Does this sound familiar
to anyone?
Thanks for the help,
Pete

Geting mail quota exceeded with plenty of space
Further checkings shows another user also getting "Quota exceeded". This
user has only 127Mb toward his quota. Only these two users have this
problem. So far. Both are infrequent mail checkers.

Are you sure there is plenty of space on /var/mail/ ? Because that should only show up when the mount point is full.

I have a ctdb cluster with 3 nodes and 3 glusterfs (version 6) nodes up
and running.
I observe plenty of these situations:

- Smbstatus shows up some (auth in progress) processes.
- In the logs of a ctdb node I get:

btrfs balance fails with no space errors (despite having plenty)
Hi all,
Yesterday I converted my ext4 root and home partitions on my home machine
to btrfs using btrfs-convert. After confirming that everything went well,
I followed the wiki instructions to nuke the 'ext2_saved" subvolume,
then defraggad and rebalanced. Everything went according to plan on my root
partition, but my home partition claimed to have run out of space
when rebalancing.

...32 partition. I know
for a fact that The Sims works under Wine (Mandrake's "Gamer" edition),
but I get an error when I try to run it. The error is as follows:
"Game cannot be started because:
There is not enough memory or hard drive space to run.
Exit now."
I do have plenty of free space and plenty of memory. Does anyone know
how to get The Sims to run under Wine?
Thanks,
Josh.

How to create distortion, echo, and chopping sound in a SIP trunk?
Hi everyone,
How can I introduce some distortion, echo, chopping sound and all other bad
quality things that can happen to a SIP trunk? I have plenty of bandwidth
and crisp clear lines so the only thing that I can think of is to limit
bandwidth but even that requires quite some scripting work.
Is there any easy way to simulate a distorted SIP line temporarily for
testing?
I am appreciate experienced inputs.
Thanks

Question about "slow" storage but fast cpus, plenty of ram and dovecot
Hello
We are using dovecot 1.2.x. In our setup we will have 1200
concurrent imap users (maildirs) and we have 2xraid5 sas 15k diks
mounted by iSCSI. The dovecot server (RHEL 5 x64) is
a virtual machine
in our vmware esx cluster. We want to minimize disk I/O, what config
options should we use. We can "exchange" CPU & RAM to minimize disk i/o.
Should we change to dovecot 2.0?

complete newbie
Hi everyone,
I am a complete newbie to rsync. Last year I built and setup my own web server
based on an old Intel PII box running at 333Mhz. There is plenty of RAM and HD
space, but the site is now growing apace.
A few weeks ago while upgrading my office equipment I set aside another box
running an AMD Athlon at 1.1GHz. Still plenty of RAM and drive space.
Both systems are setup us as servers running Fedora Core 3. I am happy with
their performance b...

doveot reporting "No space left on device" - yet df show plenty of space / inodes.
Hi,
I am running dovecot 1.0.rc7 on a Suse Linux server. The server has approx 200+ mailboxes.
Last week the filesystem (/dev/mapper/datavg/dat2lv) ran out of space - causing it to do into read-only mode. When I realised this I allocated some more space and re-booted the machine...
Strangely it seems that dovecot is still having problems... It's like dovecot doesn't realise that
