SSH crash on OpenBSD (pledge related?)
Hello,
I just ran upon this problem and couldn't find it in bugzilla.
SSH crashes (abort trap) if all of the following conditions are met:
(a) option -f is used (crash happens when going to background),
(b) reverse port forwarding is set up (option -R),
(c) option ExitOnForwardFailure is enabled,
(d) there are no actual port-forwarding failures.
The problem can be reproduced by

Does ssh need sendfd in pledge() call?
Hi,
I posted this question to the OpenBSD bugs list last week, however
I have had no reply and it was suggested on IRC that I post here
instead. So I must apologise if this is not appropriate.
For a reference here is my previous post:

I am running OpenBSD 6.5-stable (also tested on -current). When I

Online R documentation
Dear list,
Many people seem unhappy with the new documentation server because you
need to have R running to access it, and it's not immediately obvious
how to bookmark references so they work long-term. One solution to
this problem is to have a globally available website that provides
access to all package documentation.
I'm happy to have a go at developing this, but I need some money to

[PATCH] Drop fine-grained privileges on Illumos/Solaris
Hi,
I'm not sure how interested anybody here is in this, but I've been
working lately on getting rid of the horror that is SunSSH for some
distros of Illumos (mostly SmartOS). One of the patches we're carrying
around at the moment is one that simply drops fine-grained privileges in
sshd, ssh-agent and sftp-server. Since the privilege dropping here is
roughly equivalent to a more

Using Pulse Audio--question
Hi all!
This seems to me as if it should be a trivial thing to do, but so far
I've wasted a lot of time on it and gotten nowhere:
I want to feed audio from a source (ipod, other player) into the audio
input on my C7 box via either the phone jack or an external USB sound
"card" I have, then I want to play it via the speakers connected to the
system.
I can find no way to do it with

Lose 17 Pounds In 7 Days ML
Hey there,
If you're like me, you've tried EVERYTHING to lose
weight. I know how you feel - the special diets,
miracle pills, and fancy exercise equipment never helped
me lose the pounds I need lose either. It seemed like
the harder I worked at it, the less weight I lost - until
I heard about 'Extreme Power Plus'.
You're probably thinking to yourself, "Oh geez, not

enlarging partition and its filesystem
Hi all!
I've got a VM at work running C6 on HyperV (no, its not my fault,
that's what the company uses. I'd rather gag myself than own one
of th ose things.)
I ran out of disk space in the VM, so the admin enlarged the virtual disk.
but now I realize I don't know how to enlarge the partition and its
filesystem.
I'll be googling, but in case I miss it, it'd be great if

Node Attributes
So I am designing a railsapp that indexes school organizations such as
clubs and frats/sororities. I have decided to represent this as a graph,
and that each entity is going to be just represented as a node, and the
relationship between each node is going to be an edge.
so basically, a frat such as "Alpha Beta Gamma" is represented as a
node, and its chapters also as seperate nodes,

External HD partitioning & formatting considerations
Hi,
One of my clients has a mixed Linux/Mac OS/Windows environment in his office.
He just purchased a 4 TB external hard disk, which he intends to use on his
various workstations.
Up until recently, I've been using plain old MBR/FAT for hard disks in mixed
environments. Fire up fdisk, make one big 0b type partition, and then format it
using mkdosfs.
Unfortunately, there's a 2 TB limit

my last two laser printers have been Brother black&white all-in-ones

brand toner

Bounty on Error Checking
Dear R developers---I just spent half a day debugging an R program,
which had two bugs---I selected the wrongly named variable, which
turns out to have been a scalar, which then happily multiplied as if
it was a matrix; and another wrongly named variable from a data frame,
that triggered no error when used as a[["name"]] or a$name . there
should be an option to turn on that throws an

Open SSH public key setup not working on windows 2012
Hi,
I downloaded setupssh-7.3p1-2.exe for Windows x64.
I created private public keys and set it up accordingly.
After entering the passphrase, I see authentication succeeded message but then
the connection to the remote host gets closed immediately.
Some of the Client output:

Enter passphrase for key '/home/user2/.ssh/id_rsa':

Is support being removed for ordinary users to run sshd?
Hello Darren,
Could you comment on this issue being raised by myself and
Corinna Vinschen?
This will create big problems for me.
I'm not clear if this is a conscious decision supported by solid
reasons or if it is just collateral damage.
Thank you for all you work!

What included pthread.h? That's explicitly not supported by sshd:
$ grep THREAD
