Help plead, Cisco to Linux ipsec syntax
I have the task to make an IPsec tunnel between a Cisco router and a
Linux router. The people that have set the Cisco router have sent me
this (Cisco) config file, but that doesn''t help me a lot since I don''t
understand nor ipsec nor Cisco syntax that well.
So, can anyone help me to make the ipsec configuration?
Second, what''s better to use ipsec-tools or isakmpd on

a plead to package developers regarding GCC
Dear DevelopeRs,
I'd like to ask those who develop R packages with compiled code to please
try avoiding dependency on GCC (gcc/g77/gfortran/g++) specific features in
the code, for the simple reason that there are non-GCC compilers out there
that might choke on such features.
I found this out back when I was trying to build R-2.3.0-to-be on our dual
Opteron based Scyld cluster. Because the

XP difficulties on 2.09
Guys,
I think the answer to my question is to upgrade samba. However, since
this is my production machine, I thought I would try and understand the
problems I'm having a little better to insure that an upgrade will correct
my issues. My setup - Mandrake 7.2, samba 2.09. Win98, ME and XP clients.
The 98 and ME machines have no problems. The XP machine has some
intermittent slowness

How to create unique factor from two factors? + Boostrap Q
This might be easy but I'm very new to R and this question doesn't seem to
have any nice keywords that bring up relevant search results when I search
the CRAN search engine. Therefore, I'll plead (as I have in the recent
past) Newbie status.
I have a data frame with two factors (Factor 1 and 2) which together specify
another unique level. I want to create a third factor in the

nonlinear least square
Hi to all,
Is there a way we can fit a non linear model to a data using non linear
least square method without necessarily initialising the parameters of the
model. I find it hard to get the initial value of the parameter. Below is a
sample of the code I have.
*nachman<-nls(OARmedium$OCCUPANCY~1exp(-alpha*OARmedium$MEAN^beta),start=list(alpha=0.2,beta=0.1),data=OARmedium)summary(nachman)*

Yes, I found that here:

[LLVMdev] pods
To my absolute dismay I found out that the latest llvm docs are in rst
format. I tried a couple of rst to man converters and the results are
pretty bad. rst2man sort of works but spits out a lot of errors and the
man pages don't look very good. sphinx crashes and is really too heavy.
pandoc, haskell, right.
I'd like to plead with the forces that be to bring back the pods. Pods

Hi to All,
I am fitting some models to a data using non linear least square, and
whenever i run the command, parameters value have good convergence but I

graphical interface
Dear R users,,
I'm having difficulties when i use the gstat extensions in R
especially with the graphical interface, as the
variograms plots are depicted with gray background and cyan points for the number of pairs, Consequently the fitted variogram
is drawn in cyan,
How can i change that so i could have, white background and
black lines for the fitted variogram, for the complete plot.

Phone meeting about kernel virtualization hooks
I would like to host a phone meeting to discuss the plans for the xen
sub-architecture of x86. Hopefully Chris can share his vision and we
can agree on some next steps to getting this done and into the mainline
kernel. From my understanding, it would be good if the "To" list could
make it. If anyone believes others should attend, please let them

Newbie: Samba and Networks
Folks,
Installing samba 2.2.8a on a Solaris 2.8 machine for the purpose of mounting
shared Unix file systems on W2K clients.
Completed basic install, and tested OK on the same network.
However, when the W2K boxes are on a separate network, mapping the drive or
using net use on the W2K box results in the dreaded "The network path was
