Howto get playtime
Hi, Searched in Google, browsed xiph vorbis sites but found no good information about how to get the current playtime out of the granuleposition of the ogg_packet. Anyone knows if there is any 'Programming with libvorbis' documentation out there, cause on xiph's site (http://www.xiph.org/vorbis/doc/) there's nothing :( Any help? THX, Tom

child 29480 (auth) returned error 89, FC5, Postfix, MySql, mbox....arghhhh
Hi all, I have been putting a small (simple?)dedicated email server together to (ultimately) host a couple of domains. I am currently getting the configuration to work with one domain w/local mbox users and then plan to extend it to virtual users and an additional domain. Dovecot has been a problem to integrate in the configuration. The basic pieces are FC5, Postfix, Dovecot, with

Ogg: correspondence between playtime and file offset
Hi, I have modified fenice(streaming server) and mplayer(media client) code to support for ogg container(vorbis+theora). Now I have to implement forward and rewind of an ogg(vorbis+theora)file by time. So I would like to do file seek to start reading the file from that position. Eg:- mplayer will send +10 secs to forward request to fenice through RTSP and fenice should read and send packets from

Seeking in a saved stream; or,Why isn't thatsucker valid?
>>I realize that I may have unintentionally been misleading you by leaving some information out. That error report from ogginfo keeps going, repeating the same 3 errors (as above) over and over again. It ends after a stream_truncated=true, not giving a final header_integrity=fail. (Perhaps because there's not another packet?) Then it reports a total playtime of 0. > >Yes,

Residue bit usage, library incompatibilities
...download area on xiph.org. The beta4 libraries don't do this. Is this -supposed- to happen, or some odd sort of bug? To get around this, I'd just roll back to the beta4 releases of everything, but beta4 tends to report zero bitrates, infinite lengths, and ridiculously large negative-number playtimes from files encoded using rc2. Header
Hi All, I'm interested in incorporating support for the OggVorbis file format in a future update to my MP3 search engine, AudioPhilez (http://www.audiophilez.com). To be able to do this, I need some simple information. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out here: 1. Will a standard MP3 decoder find 'sync' in an .OGG file? My spider searches for sync (11 bits on) and

Log / Dump Rotation Feature Request
Hello, my name ist Robert. I just wanted to know if there are any Plans for implementing a Log Rotation (e.g. daily base) or dump rotation (e.g. session based). A feature like this is not only needed for easier organisation of Archives but for comply with the german GEMA laws. The so called GEMA, states that (the System Administrator) should keep a copy of alle Shows for at least a month due to

ogginfo integrity tests
After accidentally ogginfo-ing a WAV file, I'm wondering if there's any reason I shouldn't commit my fix that breaks out of the current file test if header integrity fails. Is there any case where the header integrity will fail but there is still any useful information to get out of the stream? I don't think so... -- Kenneth Arnold <ken@arnoldnet.net> - "Know

Odd broken oggs ...
I have a CD ripped with RC2, ogginfo from 1.0 claims they are all "broken". ogg123 also goes a little wild with them. I'll experiment a little more, maybe play with xmms, etc. RC3's ogginfo do not see anything wrong with them... an example: ---------- ogginfo 1.0 New logical stream (#1, serial: 2aab0567): type vorbis Vorbis headers parsed for stream 1, information follows...

Finding length (time) of encoded birstream
I'm adding some final features to my CD Ripper and Encoder before the full, version 1 release. As part of that release, the program will offer the ability to play (for review purposes) both WAV and OGG files. I have both the decoder and playback code working but I have one final issue to resolve: finding the play time for the Vorbis bitstream that is being played back. I used the

Streaming with ices2/linux
Hi, I have observed a problem when streaming with ices2. When only silence is transmitted, like pauses in an interview, the bitrate drops to 0. This happens even when a minimum bitrate is set. Now, assume there is a half block of audio ready. Now the level drops to silence, or near silence, possibly because the person is thinking about an answer for a while. This will cause the partial

Cannot scale my map
Dear list, I have the following problem: I want to plot my data and display a map at the same graph. The problem is that my map is not properly sized (is very small). It appears at the bottom-left side of the output. I am using the following R commands: { plot(Time, col="lightgrey") title("Connections per Minute") map("world", fill=TRUE, lwd=0.25,
