I wanted to ask Eric a question or two about the rtiff package, but his listed email address bounces w/ 550 error. Does anyone know how to reach him, or whether he's actively maintaining rtiff? If anyone's interested, my primary desire is for rtiff (or other tool) to provide me with the raw range of pixel values in a tiff file. rtiff dumps straight into a pixmap object, so the

wine on non-x86 architectures (presumably silly question)
I wouldn't think it's possible but I'd like to know (with an explanation, if possible): Can you run win32 apps with wine on non-x86 computers, e.g. under LinuxPPC? I guess not, but I wouldn't be able to give a clear explanation as to why. Regards, Frank

RObjectTables freezes in R 3.2.0 RC on 32bit systems
We recently started noticing freezes that appear only on 32bit systems (both linux and windows) with a relatively recent versions of R 3.2.0, including the RC.
