You only need a shell if you are logging into the DC and you shouldn't
be, the samba wiki couldn't be much plainer, it is not recommended to
use the DC as a fileserver!
However, if you must use the DC as a fileserver, investigate the
'template' lines for smb.conf

And is it hidden? I mean, 'samba-tool user show username' don't show
that attribute.

I don't know how I can say this plainer, the only thing that has to
match is the realm name and the dns domain name, if your dns domain name
is 'internal.example.com' then your kerberos realm must be
'INTERNAL.EXAMPLE.COM'
The netbios domain name (also known as workgroup name), can be
*anything* you like, but it is u...

You can recommend whatever you like, the reality is that there's no spare
hardware is coming my way alongside your recommendations.
And I've been bitten by virtualization one time too many already to feel

No, sorry but I don't really understand what you are trying to say. It
sounds like you have 2 DCs and one of them is on a squid proxy, if so I
don't think this is going to work. I also do not know what a 'sambaBD'
or 'samba-BD' is.
Can you please be a bit plainer, how many DCs, how are they connected etc.

Problem with Samba 4.0.4 to 4.1.19 update
Good morning friends,
I have the following structure:
Centos 6.6
1) AD samba using .tgz package
2) using the proxy Sernet packages which use command: samba-tool domain join XXX.corp DC -U Administrator --realm = XXX.corp and set the squid via NTLM.
Issues:
1) after the update I get the following messages in / var / log / messages:
Aug 13 04:08:56 kernel samba: Out of memory: Kill process

id mapping on a dc+file server
Hi,
I have a question again about my test environment. I have dc1, dc2,
fileserver1, and dc3. dc3 is on an another site, and is functioning as
fileserver too. As I read in the documentation, I cannot (shouldn't) use
idmap config parameters in the smb.conf on my dc3. Unfortunately, first I
copied that parameters too from fileserver1 (I use rid backend on
fileserver1). So, I removed the idmap

sssd-ad cannot be installed with sernet samba
I dont get al this hassle... ( again )
Sernet works fine, all my server (DCs/member) are useing sernet samba.
Only not my proxy servers. these backported samba.. ( because of a modified squid im using)
You just need to setup as the wiki says.
nss/winbind does work, yes, there is 1 missing file, just created it.
( and this is not needed on a DC ! )
winbind does work, but on DC winbind a bit
