Location of match?
Is it possible with Ferret to find the location of the matches in a document? For example imagine I have 100 documents and I search with the phrase "bob~0.5" and that returns 3 matching documents. How can I then find all locations in a specific document where it matched "bob~0.5". What I need is something like an array that contains the start index and length for each

flac/metaflac 32/64 Universal OS X builds
I've just finished an Xcode 3.1 project file for flac and metaflac that builds both tools as 32/64 bit universal binaries. If anyone is interested in either the binaries or the project, I'll be happy to share them. Stephen

authorship and citation
Dear R developers, This is a rather peculiar question, but nevertheless I would still need an answer for. It is about an R package which I created (namely QCA), and from versions 1.0-0 to 1.1-4 I had a co-author. The co-author recently withdrawn from the package development, but still requires to be left in the authors list and be cited for the package in the CITATION file. Obviously, one could

As a fourth option, I wonder if the first author could fork the package? Presumably, appropriately cited, a fork is permitted by the license under which it was released. Then the original package, by both authors, still exists (and a final version could point to the new one) and the new package, citing the previous version appropriately, is by a single author. mixed models for analyzing survey data with unequal selec tion probability
...nt best practice is to use the weights as a covariate in a regression model - and bytheway - the weights are the inverse of the probabilities of selection - not the probabilities. Fundamentally, there is a difficulty in making sense out of 'random effects' in a finite population setting. (plagiarized from some unknown source) See: < 9. Pfeffermann, D. , Skinner, C. Duplicate Sambawiki??
Maybe the Samba team is aware of this? I discovered this this morning. https://www.linuxsecrets.com/samba-wiki/index.html It shows the current version 4.8.0???? The: https://www.linuxsecrets.com/samba-wiki/index.php/Joining_a_Samba_DC_to_an_Existing_Active_Directory.html page has, at the bottom of the page: "This page was last modified on 11 January 2018, at 19:52." This information

Simply advice: The former co-author contributed, so he is still author and probably copyright holder and has to be listed among the authors, otherwise it would be a CRAN policy violation since even if he does not develop further on, he developed parts of the so far existing package (if you talk about a CRAN package). I am not a lawyer, hence I cannot speak for copyright/license stuff in

[PATCH] ocfs2/quota: Release lock for error in ocfs2_quota_write.
ocfs2_quota_write needs to release the lock if it fails to read quota block. So use "goto out" instead of "return err". [LLVMdev] summer of code idea— update the SAFECode project to the new LLVM API

The release_26 branch in the SVN repository works with LLVM 2.6, and mainline is working (with some regressions) with the upcoming LLVM 2.7. You can subscribe to the SVA Commits mailing list

Publishing a webcam on a web page?
This talk of cameras has reminded me of a problem I've not yet been able to solve. I have a Logitech Communicate STX ( ID 046d:08ad Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Communicate STX ) This seems to work under v4l on CentOS 5.4. If I load xawtv (from rpmforge) then I can view the image from the camera. But what I'd like to be able to do is have the image appear on a web page (maybe streaming

[LLVMdev] summer of code idea— update the SAFECode project to the new LLVM API
Hi, John Criswell! You have said to me that SAFECode had not been maintained for several years, now I have submitted my proposal for updating the SAFCode project to the new LLVM APIs. If you are still interested in the topic and willing to guid my project, I will be very happy. Now I'm waiting for you comments. Here is my proposal:
