I''d like to be able to maintain the package on a client system without having to also keep a copy of the package file on the client system. ...There are a few ways to install a newer version of sane-backends on EL6. One is to rebuild a src.rpm from Fedora. The other is to use the linuxtech-backports repo [1]. Just bringing up a Centos-6 (x86_64, FWIW) and I can't find the mixer app... on my C5 box(es), double click on the speaker icon in the top panel and I get a mixer app appears on the screen. My new C6 box doesn't do that. I've installed all the PULSEAUDIO RPMS I can find, but still nothing. what am I missing here? thanks! Fred

Hi , just starting off with Puppet on Macs. initially we are planning for a small group of machines. If successfull we plan to span it to entire environment in a phased manner. I have a couple of newbie questions. Do i have to use custom script to create and maintain user/group accounts as far as i have read i can manage passwords ?
