Case weighting
The need comes from the PISA data. (http://www.pisa.oecd.org)
In the data there are many cases and each of them carries a numeric
variable that signifies it's weight.
In SPSS the command would be "WEIGHT BY"
In simpler words here is an R sample ( What is get VS what i want to get )

[LLVMdev] Casting from float to unsigned char - incorrect output?

However, this does not seem to produce the correct output for negative

Multiple imputation with plausible values already in the data
Hello,
this is not really an R-related question, but since the posting guide does not
forbid asking non-R questions (even encourages it to some degree), I though I'd
give it a try.
I am currently doing some secondary analyses of the PISA (http://pisa.oecd.org)
student data. I would like to treat missing values properly, that is using
multiple imputation (with the mix package). But I am not sure how to do the
imputation, since the data set provided by the OECD already contains variables
with plausible values.
Roughly, the situation...

suggestions for ANOVA which includes the "year" as a factor
Dear R Fundation,
I am a post-doc researcher at the University of Pisa, Italy.
I apologize for my english and I have to tell you in advance that I
am a very beginner with R.
I used R for fitting dose-response curves (drc package) and for an
ordinary ANOVA (one, two or three factors), including the post-hoc
mean comparison (I used the LSD test...).
Now I have to...
