Troubles DNATing UDP
Hi. I have strange troubles with DNATing UDP packets. The situation: 1. We have local network 10.10.0.0/16 2. We have a "server network" 192.168.1.0/25 connected with local network by a router 10.10.100.1 (other ip 192.168.1.1). 3. Web server is located at 192.168.1.2 4. There are HW pingers in the net 10.10.0.0/16 whose do ping 10.10.100.1 every second. The ping is the UDP packet with both source and destination ports set to 4000. 5. There is software to decode ping packets and produce/update html report. I want to install the ping-analizing software at the web-server (192.168.1.2)...

Lustre Debug level
Hi, Lustre manual 1.6 v18 says that that in production lustre debug level should be set to fairly low. Manual also says that I can verify that level by running following commands: # sysctl portals.debug This gives ne following error error: ''portals.debug'' is an unknown key cat /proc/sys/lnet/debug gives output: ioctl neterror warning error emerg ha config console cat

Difference in gnome between centos <> fedora
Hello, I've on my home PC CentOS 6 and Fedora 13 on different disks. When I log on the gnome enviroment at Fedora knows exactly which programm was started at which desktop (for example: thunderbird on desktop 1, firefox on desktop 2, nautilus on desktop 3, ..). The same procedure on Centos takes all programs on the first desktop, so I must arrange the programs on the right desktop.

Multihome load balancing - kernel vs netfilter
Hi, I have searched the archives on the topic, and it seems that the list gurus favor load balancing to be done in the kernel as opposed to other means. I have been using a home-grown approach, which splits traffic based on `-m statistic --mode random --probability X`, then CONNMARKs the individual connections and the kernel happily routes them. I understand that for > 2 links it will become

Calls Dropping
Hi, I'm having a major problem with random calls dropping. After spending weeks trying to figure it out, i've finally spotted the issue but don't know how to resolve it. I run a sip server that's hosted in a data centre. It has a public IP address with no nat involved. My provider also has a public ip with no nat involved. The sip phones are in a remote office behind a nat

asterisk's zombie processes
I'm monitoring Asterisk with Nagios. Nagios constantly alerts because of too many zombie processes. I eventually had to disable the notification for the alert but why does Asterisk create so many zombie processes, I've see more than 30 at times and it generally stays in the 20s... just seems unusual and wondering if it's harmful, thanks in advance. -------------- next part

fast optimization routines in R
Dear R help archive group, I am looking for a maximization routine that I can use to maximize a large variety of relatively complex likelihoods. I undertand (from previous posts) that coding the objective function more efficiently can help. However, the optimization routine employed seems important too. So far, I have tried the optimization routines optim, maxlik, trust and nlminb. The latter two

Samba 4 Domain Provisioning
Hi, I have been having issues with NTLMv2 on newly provisioned domains, using Samba 4.1 from backports on Debian Wheezy. Everything seems to be working fine, except for NTLMv2 authentication with Squid and "ntlm_auth" on newer Windows versions. If I set "Lmcompatibility" down on the Windows PCs, then authentication works, but that is temporary workaround at best. I have

lustre 1.8.3 upgrade observations
Hello, 1) when compiling the lustre modules for the server the ./configure script behaves a bit odd. The --enable-server option is silently ignored when the kernel is not 100% patched. Unfortunatly the build works for the server, but during the mount the error message claims about a missing "lustre" module which is loaded and running. What is really missing are the ldiskfs et al

monitor fcgi?
Im trying to get a new app up on dreamhost. What fun :/ Id like to try out the ''frao_handler'' which just keeps dreamhost from automatically killing my fcgi processes. But Im also worried about things getting out of hand. I seem to remember that captures in views can cause problems with fcgi (I might just be making that up????), and I do have few in my app. And well Im

Luster clients getting evicted
on our cluster that has been running lustre for about 1 month. I have 1 MDT/MGS and 1 OSS with 2 OST''s. Our cluster uses all Gige and has about 608 nodes 1854 cores. We have allot of jobs that die, and/or go into high IO wait, strace shows processes stuck in fstat(). The big problem is (i think) I would like some feedback on it that of these 608 nodes 209 of them have in dmesg

[SO]HO Software RAID5 server: which implementation should I choice?
Hello, freebsd-stable. Does somebody use some software RAID5 on FreeBSD in real production system? I want to build storage server for my home: RAW photos, multi-layer PhotoShop files and FLAC-encoded music consume a lot of space, and they should be availible both from desktop & notebook. Also, all photo-content is unique, so I need some insuranse from single HDD crash. I understand,
