Need help getting two NICs to work on CentOS 7
...default gateway defined and the other NIC has an IP on a different subnet with a different gateway on a different VLAN defined. Now when I activate both NICs, and run an ifconfig -a, I see that both IP addresses are showing. Now here is the problem. When I ping the VM, the first NIC's IP is not pingable at all, but the second NIC's IP is pingable. How do I configure the networking so that both IPs are pingable and the VM is reachable via both IPs? Please let me know what I may be doing wrong! Thank you! Sean

True bond howto for Centos 6
...g some hosts on the network, they are all up. Cannot resolve via DNS which is one of the hosts that I cannot ping, internal nor external DNS hosts. Unplugging the NICS and plugging them back in will then not allow pining if the default d=gateway. When cold booting it somewhat works, some hosts are pingable while others are not. When restarting the network service via /etc/init.d/network, nothing is pingable. Here are my configs; ifcfg-bond0 DEVICE=bond0 USERCTL=no BOOTPROTO=none ONBOOT=yes IPADDR=10.0.0.10 NETMASK=255.255.0.0 NETWORK=10.0.0.0 TYPE=Unknown IPV6INIT=no ifcfg-eth0 DEVICE=eth0 BOOTP...

ConnectTimeout=2 not working for me
...ge problem that I could not figure out, maybe someone here can lelp. I have a script that uses scp to distribute files to many servers, I use '-o BatchMode=yes -o ConnectTimeout=2 options so the scp will not get stuck if something is wrong with the remote host. If the remote host is down (non-pingable) or sshd is down the timeout option works and the scp continues to the next host in 2 seconds, but if the host is up (pingable) and sshd is listening on port 22 and host is either in trouble e.g. irresponsive then ssh connection hangs and wont every timeout. In that case, I will have to logon to...

sppp device not routing ? (need help)
...''t do name lookups (service dns/client is enabled, resolv.conf has the nameservers, ipv4-routing and ipv4-forwarding enabled, also ipv6 routing and forwarding enabled on router01 and dmz01). I can set up a route to the static IP that''s assigned to sppp0 on dmz01, and it''s pingable, but the packets go no further : I can''t ping the IP/gateway of the ISP, or the nameservers (nameservers are pingable from dmz01, so they aren''t blocking ICMP). I''m pretty sure that it''s getting "stuck" at the sppp0 device. It''s almost like t...

SLES10 guest OSes drop off network.
I am having issues with guest OSes running on SLES10 (Sun 4200) hosts. Periodically, the guest OS system drops off the network. From the general network it is not pingable, consequently, ssh fails. If however, I log into the SLES10 server that is hosting the guest OS and ssh to the guest OS, then it becomes immediately pingable and accessible to the rest of the network. Almost like the network on the guest os is sleeping. The guest OSes are configured to have tw...

"no more processes"
Just had a box go unresponsive on all services (still pingable) had a session still open to it but any command would result in the error "no more processes" Checks clean for a rootkit and nothing amiss in the logs (that I can find). I have never heard of a bsd box giving this error before, I can't even think of what (other than a hack) would...

does astcanary really work?
A week ago, I tried give realtime priority to asterisk proces using -p switch, asterisk was running inside astcanary, but yestarday asterisk probably starts eating all cpu and lock any access to computer, only ping was possible, so, anybody have experience, that ascanary process does really work to lower process priority in case of overloading? 7.1-stable (righ after release) locks up on soekris net5501 every day
Hello, Freebsd-stable. I installed 7.1-STABLE on my new Soekris net5501. Kernel config is in attach. This unit lock up in strange way every day. It is pingable, but no access to host on any network protocol (sshd, named, etc are not answering), and serial console (only one this unit has) DOESN'T ANSWER too! Only way to un-freeze it is cold reboot. I've thought, it is overheating problem (before I discovered, that it pingable even when con...

Concept clarification between multiple ConnecTo and multiple netname
...o matter how many ConnectTos I placed in the tinc.conf(on the client side), only one connection can made to the server, and only one tun0 bring up with is the p2p connection can only go with one server, even though from debug message, I saw to connections all established, but only one connection is pingable. If this is the case, then can I assume the ConnectTo in the tinc.conf is connection by sequence which is a failover machoism, instead of "connect them all"? But multiple netname can do the “connect them all" -- Bright Zhao sent from Gmail -------------- next part --------------...

Ethernet interface shuts down
Hi All, I have three Linux boxes running RH7.2 and each one of these has two 3com Ethernet NICs. I am trying to do some routing stuff with these. Ethernet interfaces on these boxes shut down by its own if I do not pass the packet through them for a while. I am not able to understand why is it happening. One more thing when I use “ip addr show” it shows that interface is there , but ifconfig

NV43 + PPC64 = :(
...ng to benh on IRC, I created the attached patch. nouveau.ko can at least load on PPC64 now. :) However, during X-server start up, the system hard-locks. Since Apple systems don't have a reset button (sigh...), I have to power-cycle the machine. I cannot ssh into the machine, and it's not pingable. It's really toast. I've attached a log with DRM debug messages. The bits about "iommu_alloc failed" seem suspicious to me. I don't have another system with an Nvidia card to test. I'd appreciate it if someone could test this patch on x86 or x86-64 and report results...

Unable to Destroy One Particular Snapshot
...a strange problem here. I have a filesystem with one snapshot that simply refuses to be destroyed. The snapshots just prior to it and just after it were destroyed without problem. While running the zfs destroy command on this particular snapshot, the server becomes more-or-less hung. It''s pingable but will not open a new shell (local or via ssh) however existing shells will occasionally provide some interaction, but at an obscenely slow rate, if at all. Also, since this snapshot is unusually large in size so I''ve allowed the server to chew on it over night without success. It set...
