centos 5.1 fresh install of ipvsadm: service won't start: config missing
Hello all,
I have ipvsadm-1.24 installed, and there's an error when the service starts:
Applying IPVS configuration: /etc/init.d/ipvsadm: line 62:
/etc/sysconfig/ipvsadm: No such file or directory
is the install broken? I did a "yum whatprovides ipvsadm" and it does
say there's a config, but doesn't point to where it is.
any suggestions?

ionice
Hi Everyone,
I''m experimenting with ionice, and I have to say at first impressions
I''m very impressed!
Does anyone have any idea how I could script the ionice config? I''m
using phy for my DomUs so everything appears in ps as blkback.<DOMID>.xvda1
The problem is, is that the process id for the blkback process will
change after every DomU restart,

Monitoring Xen with Zabbix..
Is anyone using Zabbix to monitoring Xen at the dom0 level?
Right now I have the Zabbix agent running in each domU but I would like to
get per domU and aggregated statistics from the hyper visor perspective.
I see a bunch of ''hard'' ways to collect these stats but first I want to make
sure there isn''t some ''magic pill'' for Zabbix / Xen that I might of

anyone care to point me in the right direction? LVS
i'm trying to setup LVS, and tried both the lvs-dr and the lvs-nat,
but can't get any to work.
I'm hoping people here can answer a few questions that might help and
shed light onto the situation?
#1 with regards to the Real Servers, is there anything that needs to
be configured other that the http service? I ask this, because I
suspect yes, and it has to do with what type of LVS you

Lose 17 Pounds In 7 Days ML
Hey there,
If you're like me, you've tried EVERYTHING to lose

me lose the pounds I need lose either. It seemed like
the harder I worked at it, the less weight I lost - until
I heard about 'Extreme Power Plus'.

Saltar filas no numericas al importar csv
Buenas
Quiero saltar las filas no numericas al importar un csv. Saltar las primeras filas es facil, con el
read.csv("datos.csv",skip=30)
El problema es que el csv tiene cada x filas un encabezado, y quiero que excel solo pille los datos.
¿Cómo podría hacerlo?
Gracias

ad-hoc query
How do you run an ad-hoc query that does not belong in any model? I
thought it was something like ActiveRecord::connection.find("my
query..."), but I can''t seem to find the documentation on it. I know
I''ve seen it somewhere before, though.
thanks,
Jeff

Rsyslog and "Error while reading from Linux ethertap device /dev/net/tun: File descriptor in bad state"
Hi,
I recently had a machine filling up its harddisk with syslog and tinc
pilling up milions of messages like this:
"Error while reading from Linux ethertap device /dev/net/tun: File
descriptor in bad state"
I remembered that there was a difference between rsyslog and other
loggers, where one of those was skipping those messages, and simply
was displaying:

Paravirt-ops success

I didn't cc LKML since I didn't want to spam them with graphics. Very =

rsync with 8bit file names?
When trying to sync my TV folder to a mirror drive, episodes with non-ASCII characters in them cannot be processed by rsync. Anything I can do about this?
For example, I get this:

This is rsync under OS X:

Hidden links on ROR Wiki
Hello list members,
Today I noticed on http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/WorkingProfessionallyWithRails that there were a ton of spam links in the source code that I couldn''t see on the page itself. Upon careful examination I found the links to be hidden:
I am posting the content here for reference and to show patterns of spam:

Saltar filas no numericas al importar csv
No me vale, porque no es un problema de columnas, es de filas.
Cuando importo el csv, como tiene cada columna segun la fila o numeros o texto, R convierte la columna automaticametne en factor.
He probado a convertir las columnas a numeric, pero tampoco me vale, ya que transforma el texto a numeros....
¿Alguna alternativa? estoy pensando ne poner skip y ne el skip meter las letras del

IPv4 routed virtual networks
OK, either I have taken a stupid pill and am missing something basic or
routed network do not work.
I assume that, if they did work, it would be in more or less that same
manner as a nat network as far as ping'ing, ssh'ing, etc. to another
real host on the same real LAN as the virtualization host. At least that
is what I believe I should expect.
I have googled for info and everything

Unfortunately we are all to well aware of this problem, but as the long-
standing policy of samba.org lists is to allow public posting, we are
between a rock and a hard place.
