virtual switch with more than one phyical nic?
Hi. Can a virtual switch have more than one physical NIC?
Or, can a VNIC have more than one NIC? (this is the same
question, I think)?

Physical cdrom passthrough to windows 7 DomU
I''m currently using xen 4.1 on an Ubuntu 12.04 Dom0 and I''m trying to
passthrough the machines phyical cdom drive as

the drive on bootup everything works fine; I can read data from the
disk, eject it and so on. If however the drive is empty on startup I

Small questoin: when running the P2v hard disk image, and I want to convert
a phyical machine to oVirt, to which machine do I connect when the GUI
starts? one of the nodes or the hosted engine? (i'm not talking about the
URL).

Bad Voice Quality - IAX2 redirect
...;m behind a NAT BTW). No
matter how I tried, the media continued to pass through my server, so
I switched from SIP to IAX2.
I've had much better success redirecting calls back to the PSTN using
IAX2. I can see the handshakes in the CLI and once the redirected
call had been established, I can phyically disconnect my * server from
the Ethernet and the call is unaffected.
Unfortunately I'm getting complaints about call quality (I use ulaw
the whole way).
I don't think the problem can possibly be on my server or its
configuration given that the call is completly handed off as described

You need a machine (or it can be a VM) with virt-v2v installed, and

Zerodist
Hi all,
I got the
>"chfactor.c", line 130: singular matrix in function LDLfactor()
Error in predict.gstat(g, newdata = newdata, block = block, nsim = nsim, :
LDLfactor<
Error, probably because there are some point pairs with zero distance in the matrix. My question is, how can i delete these duplicate nodes from the data set?
Thanks, m

Call Quality Issues with IAX?
Hey all,
I recently got a message from my provider about IAX:

syslinux-3.36 Physical Floppy Disk Access Problem
Hello,
I am using the pxelinux.0 and memdisk files from distribution syslinux-3.36.
I am no longer able to access the real floppy disk drive B: instead I just
get a mirrored copy of the emulated floppy disk A:
The default config file is as follows
label 1
kernel memdisk
append initrd=kd202.img
I was previously using the sysliunx-3.20 distribution which gave me access

Increasing the maximum number of rows
Dear R helpers,
I created a somewhat big database (+206,700 rows) in MySQL and have
exported into a csv file, but I can't open the whole thing in R. I am
using:
> base<-read.csv("/path/to/file.csv", header=F, sep="," nrows=206720)
R doesn't complain but it only opens 128,328 observations (the number of
columns corresponds to the original database):

Problems with Samba in manufacturing environment
Hello,
I work for a computer manufacturer and we are using Linux/Samba in our
production as file servers for our end-user software installation. We have
done this now for over a year but recently we needed to re-engineer the
system to accommodate the larger software installations. Here are the
problems.
Bandwidth Issues:
I am using Samba to provide connectivity to DOS clients. This environment

Reading the new 6.0 manual - now questions
I'm new to running VMs, so I'm hoping this hasn't been a problem
question asked before. I've only glazed over the emails from this list
since I've joined due to not really needing all of the great information
if provides.
Eric suggested I wait for Centos 6 to start loading my new VM host, and
so I grabbed the RH Virtualization PDF and started digging in.
Firstly, it

Help with b97 HVM zvol-backed DomU disk performance
Hi Folks,
I was wondering if anyone has an pointers/suggestions on how I might increase disk performance of a HVM zvol-backed DomU? - this is my first DomU, so hopefully its something obvious
Running bonnie++ shows the DomU''s performance to be 3 orders of magnitude worse than Dom0''s, which itself is half as good as when not running xVM at all (see bottom for bonnie++ results)

pfSense HVM
Hi Everyone,
Does anybody have any experience using pfSense on Xen? I would most
probably have to use HVM...
My idea would be to use PCI-Passthrough to the pfsense DomU, and only
make the Dom0 accessable via the pfsense firewall
Thanks
Jonathan
