Shorewall + Squid transparent + Apache
...omething about that in shorewall.net some time ago, but I could not find it today ... The case : Debian Etch, Shorewall 3.2.6, squid3 and Apache 2 . The first 3 where already running fine for some time ... Now I need to setup an Apache server to allow some web mannagement, things like PHPsysinfo, phppgadmin, just for internal net, no web access . but port 80 is redirected to squid, so I need to search the solution within Shorewall conf, or it is a Squid option ? There are some how-to or faq about ? Thanks for any help Fábio Rabelo -------------------------------------------------------------------...

pgadmin3
...dmin3 installed on CentOS-4 ? The WxGTK2 stuff makes it impossible for me to get installed from RPM/SRPM from their site and likewise, couldn't rebuild from Fedora SRPMS either. I figure between Jim and Owen and ???, somebody might have succeeded where I would be doomed. I can get around with phppgadmin but pgadmin3 is pretty cool. Thanks Craig

Need help with postgresql authentication set up
OS - CentOS4 PostgreSQL = 8.0.3 I think that I need to locate a custom pam module to use in pg_hba.conf that will allow phpPgAdmin to authenticate users against /etc/password (shadow). I cannot seem to find a straight forward reference to such a beast either in the documentation or on the web. The pam modules that I have found through google seem to be intended to allow one to authenticate against a pg database rather t...

ActiveRecord: Getting table names
How do i get (discover) all the table names within a database using ROR/ActiveRecord ? I wish to build a webapp that connects to a database on the fly, discovers tables and column names etc and then can show data or build a report based on user selection. The ActiveRecord API doesnt seem to give any method for getting table names. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Internal Server Error - I want to cry
I got a brand new Fedora Core 4 box and was all excited to get Rails running on it. That was about two days ago. I did all the ''yum install ruby, etc. etc. etc.'', then ''gem install rails, etc. etc. etc''. I''ve tried running Rails with httpd (fastcgi and cgi), lighttpd (scgi, fastcgi, cgi), mongrel, webrick, and even ''ruby

RailsDB 0.2 Release
...face to popular open source databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite. The RailsDB project is currently under heavy development and seeking more developers to assist. Q. Where? A. http://railsdb.org/ Q. Why? A. I''m tired of having to use, in a single work day no less, phpMyAdmin, phpPgAdmin, SQLite Manager, and Oracle SQL Developer, all having different interfaces and feature sets. I think the those tools could be greatly improved upon by using a bits of Javascript/AJAX in all the right places. In addition I think ActiveRecord, through the available Ruby database drivers, provides mu...

SQL "editor"
Hello all, I am curious about what tools you guys use to make your databases. I know David uses CocoaMySQL. Are there other tools for other platforms and for other databases? I''m not very good with the SQL language, so I would like being able to do all my database setup with an easy-to-use tool (defining tables, fields, primary keys, foreign keys, indexes, etc.) Big kisses, Vincent.

DHH Interviewed by MySQL
I didn''t see anyone post a link to David''s Interview by Lenz here on the list so I decided to post it. The interview can be accessed here: http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/interviews/david-heinemeier-hansson-rails.html I was very happy to see the interview on PlanetMySQL as just the other day I was talking about RubyOnRails on my MySQL blog which is syndicated

Postgresql vs MySQL
Is there any reason to avoid using postgresql for small web apps? That is, is it''s overhead so large that the lighter MySQL will work substantially better for small apps on small machines? Or are they very similar in performance and configuration? I''ve used MySQL but postgresql has its appeals and I''m wondering if I need to keep MySQL around at all. On the other

OT: Best DB
I know this is a bit off topic but we are using Asterisk :) Since this list is full of tech gurus w/ all different sorts of backgrounds, I thought I would get the best opinions here. We have several different switches and other telecom equipment at our facilities which all have their own proprietary cdr platforms, which are rather limited. The company I work for is looking to develop their
