When I run photoshop like this:

Running Photoshop on a relatively old PC
...nking about moving to Linux operating
system. This would resque our old machine which is getting left behind
when it comes to hardware (and it would also put fun back into
computing). The problem is that if I convert the only machine our family
has to Linux, it would mean that an important program, Photoshop, which
we use everyday has to be abandoned. This can't be the case since my
father is a busy professional photographer, and he uses the somewhat
ancient Photoshop 5 LE everyday. He can't be forced to use GIMP because
PS 5 is the same program they use at work (...why not PS 7 or something

Photoshop CS2 Crash under Wine, "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable."
I recently came across a post (circa jan-feb 2008) where a user had encountered a fatal and unrecoverable crash when starting Photoshop for the second or subsequent time.
I've noticed that this issue has happened to many people, myself included while installing it on someone's system today, and that, while there is a short-term workaround (noted below), nobody has yet posted an actual permanent fix for the problem. I work...

wine1.3.28 broken msvcp90.dll
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and the wine1.3 ppa (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa). I upgraded this morning using the normal update manager, and I went to run Photoshop CS5 which has been working flawlessly for months, it broke. According to /var/log/apt/term.log I updated from wine1.3.26 to wine1.3.28.
I get this error:
Code:
wine: Call from 0x7b83b332 to unimplemented function msvcp90.dll.??0?$basic_string at GU?$char_traits at G@std@@V?$allocator at G@2@@std@...

Locking issue with Lightroom and Photoshop
Hi folks,
I have an issue at a weird confluence of macOS Mojave's "nsmb" client,
Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and Samba 4.7.6-Ubuntu. Since I don't have
much control over Apple or Adobe software, I'm hoping there's some smb.conf
magic (or other sage advice) that might help me out of this jam. For
reference, Samba is configured for SMB2-only access (i.e. durable file
handles), with min/max clie...

Photoshop leaving toolboxes behind
Hi,
I was going to file a bug report for this, but I thought I'd check here
first, because I'm not sure if this is a wine bug, or something to do
with Photoshop or Compiz.
Most times when I close Photoshop CS2, I'm getting the one or more of
the tool pallets left behind on my desktop. I have found no way to get
rid of them - apart from restarting the X server. I tried xkill but it
just hits whatever is underneath.
Is this a known bug? I couldn't...

photoshop cs2 runs, but seems laggy
I just got photoshop cs2 installed and running on my system using 'sh winetricks corefonts vcrun6' and while it runs and all, it seems very choppy. You can't just set a dll to native without installing it first. Use winetricks instead which should do all this automatically.
