investigating interaction term for a model of Gross Primary Productivity
I am trying to investigate the interaction term in the below. The paradigm in aquatic systems is that algal production is either nitrogen (TIN) or Phosphorus limited, and I am trying to investigate this- what is the best way to go about investigating the interaction term. I have some thoughts on the above, but I will withhold them to see what others think. Thanks for your help. d <- (structure(list(d.GPP = c(1.213695235, 3.817313822, 1.267930498,...

option to control the spac between columns in data frame
...owing table has its clumns spaced closely so when I paste it to a word file it looks continuous. Is there any option in R to make the outputs like the second table? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance. selecting only specific rows in R
Hi, I have a data frame with columns as follows: tree species (independent variable) and several dependent variables (e.g. carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus). Each row represents one tree sample. Some tree samples are unique species in the data frame while other species were replicated (i.e. rows 1,2,3 may be identical for the "tree species" column but have different values for the other dependent variable columns). I want to create a...

ggplot2 scale relation free
I don't know if there is a way to use the scale relation free argument in ggplot2 like in lattice. I have a feeling that there is not, but I would like to make a plea for this feature. It would be nice to be able to plot Total Inorganic Nitrogen Total Phosphorus and the ratio of the two- the numbers on the axis are not related, but the previous two are surely related to the last (this ratio has been suggested to show nutrient limitation, but there is the possibility that the concentrations of the two constituents are high enough where the ratio is not tha...

mlogit: Error reported using sample dataset
I've been working on a multinomial logit model, trying to predict vegetation types as a function of total phosphorus. Previous responses to my postings have pointed me to the mlogit package. I'm now trying to work examples and my data using this package. data("Fishing", package = "mlogit") Fish <- mlogit.data(Fishing, varying = c(4:11), shape = "wide", choice = "mode&qu...

The experiment consists of a blocked/split-plot design, with plant biomass as the response. The following is an overview of the treatments applied (nitrogen addition, phosphorus addition, and seeded/not seeded) and at what level (block, main-plot, and sub-plot): - 6 experimental blocks divided into 2 main-plots - each main-plot divided into 8 sub-plots, for a total of 96 sub-plots (6 blocks * 2 main-plots * 8 sub-plots) - 16 experimental treatment conditions in a 4 x 2 x...

Big JBOD: what would you do?
ZFS fans, I''m preparing some analyses on RAS for large JBOD systems such as the Sun Fire X4500 (aka Thumper). Since there are zillions of possible permutations, I need to limit the analyses to some common or desirable scenarios. Naturally, I''d like your opinions. I''ve already got a few scenarios in analysis, and I don''t want to spoil the brain storming, so
