(network B)
I have tried two setups to support the Expedited forwarding PHB on the
core router using the HTB qdisc and PRIO qdisc. The core router is a P4
2.8ghz, 512mb RAM running fedora core 3 with the 2.6 kernel. The Voip
traffic is marked with the EF codepoint. Im using a local stratum 1 ntp
server to synchronise time. The config I used for each setup is included

[Bug 3634] New: IPQoS default should be changed to "none"
...use of this
problem is just that the combination of the network's QoS policy (which
varies from network to network) and OpenSSH's new DSCP values are not
compatible [3].
- Propose
To address this mismatch issue, OpenSSH should use DSCP=0 by default,
which is corresponding to the default PHB. Since most platforms use
DSCP=0 by default, OpenSSH should use platform?s default value. i.e.
?IPQoS none none" should be default setting for OpenSSH.
- DSCP=0 rationale
The default PHB (a.k.a best effort forwarding behavior) is a class
that networks must implement in Diffserv architect...

Quick logrotate question for the group. To comply with a PHB mandate,
I need to keep our apache logs for a minimum of 2 years, and will be
periodically required to hand over chunks of the logs from specific
dates/times. While extending the timeframe of logrotate is easy, I've
found that there's no elegant solution in the RH/CentOS logrotate for

HTB vs CBQ - is meaning of prio param the same?
Hi,
I am looking working (!) qdisc that would guarantee preferential treatment
to priority (ex voice traffic). It is supposed to work as LLQ (Cisco) which
means it is PQ but with bandwidth limited for EF PHB traffic.
I did lots of tests with CBQ and prio set to 1 for EF PHB and prio 2 for
best effort. Although delay does not look like being guaranteed at all for
priority traffic.
Eventually I would like to compare HTB with prio''s to CBQ with prio''s set.
But HTB site says prio is on...

I can claim I at least tried that mating dance with those two beasts

about 200 PHB without any significant assistance.
I never understood the term "Hig Availability" : does it mean

What exactly those lusers want? and what exactly we self declared high

Hello Maximilian,
I think may be cause by MTU proble if you have many peer. you can run
tincd with -d 5 or tincd -n "yournetname" -k INT , check the log file

foo_spec.rb -> foo.rspec (proposed RSpec file name convention)
...convention distilled enough to be
mentioned in the pickax "Creating Your Own Gems - Package Layout"
section (not to mention an entire additional section dedicated to
BDD to go with or replace the old asserts stuff).
Loving RSpec. You actually get work done while writing that spec doc any
PHB can understand, even if the application isn''t written in Ruby.
Looking forward to using RSpec from JRuby to apply BDD to the legacy
Java stuff.

Oh, Boy. I am in trouble now....
I just installed Centos on a USB drive on my corp notebook. To not
TOUCH my corp drive.
I spent time with the drive partitioner to make sure that nothing was
done to the internal hard drive...
Well I missed something and I overwrote the encrypted bootloader on the
hard drive.
Now what? Can I rescue things?

actually should have said "you guys" instead of "we" because I am in-between

inaccessible to PHB / noob types because of things like attitude, Asterisk
will be relegated to "also-ran" status with such illustrious company as the
