pgup/pgdown in R Graphics Window under Linux
Dear S-users.
This should be an easy one: How do I change pages on an X11 graphics
device under linux?
I thought that the page-up/page-down keys were supposed to do the trick,
but the frame (window) seems to be kind of immune to any kind of keyboard
input. The only reaction I ever see is that the mouse pointer changes to a
"+" when moved into the frame.
I issue these commands:

BTW, Kaspar, I have no Windows at hand in this moment but
does the problem manifest itself also with the plot history mechanism?
E.g., (i) if you set (with the menu) the graphics window in
'recording mode', (ii) make some plots , (iii) go back to the
first plot using 'PgUp', (iv) add some new elements to it and
(v) go to some other plot and then back to the first plot
with 'PgDown' and 'PgUp', the first plot you get is the modified one
or not? Reason of the question is that replayng of the saved history

Console display "buffer size"
...592 of columns 1:15
Chunk 2: rows 1:592 of columns 16:30
Chunk 3: rows 1:592 of columns 31:41
If the number of rows that can be displayed on the screen is, say, 60,
then only rows 533:592 of Chunk 3 will be visible in the first instance.
However, on my Linux system at any rate, I can use Shift+PgUp to
scroll back up through what has been output to the console. It seems
that my friend proceeds similarly.
But now, after a certain number of (Shift+PgUps), one runs out
of road before getting to Row 1 of Chunk 1 (in my friend's case,
only Rows 468-592 of Chunk 1 can be seen).
The explanation...

Could anyone answer for the following question
...wer for the following question for me:
I am using R 2.0.1 under Windows XP. I want to write a function that
makes four graphs and stores each of them in graphics history. When the
function finishes, in other words, I want its graphical output to be
stored in a way that I can look at it using PgUp and PgDn. I think I need
commands I can put in a function that
--clear graphics history
--either turn on graphics history recording or store the current graph
Can anyone explain how to do this?
Thank you so much

windows(record=T) loses last plot (PR#3663)
The audit trail indicates that PR#3663 is not reproducible and/or fixed,
but I believe windows(record=T) is still not working as documented:
windows(record=T)
for(i in 1:5) plot(0, 0, cex=4, pch=as.character(i))
After cycling through the plots with PgUp and PgDn, the user finds out
that plot 5 is lost. Indeed,
.SavedPlots
reports that only 4 plots were saved. I'm running the example in a fresh R
session, after rm(list=ls(all=T)), quitting, and restarting. I have
reproduced this bug on two machines, one with a fresh R installation.
Thanks,...

Crash with qemu install: 5.2 as host and 5.2 as guest
...uck with qemu.
I already tried the kernel-xen kernel from centosplus.
Have you got any idea?
TIA
Regards
Michael
PS: Here's the crash, I hope I typed everything right. ;-) (I didn't
want to bother you with a gif).
I couldn't get further up in order to grab more from the screen. Shift -
PgUp doesn't work.

Well when it fails to find bash the machine totally locks up so
Shift-PgUp isn't much use, However I have managed to have a good look
at
every line that the Kernel pumps out and none of them seem to have any
information about what is the kernels boot arguments....

Activating Graphics History
...tion on how
to activate the "record graphics history" option via
a command line (as opposed to having to use the menu).
I would like to store a series of graphics. The readme says:
`The History menu allows the recording of plots. When plots have been
recorded they can be reviewed by PgUp and PgDn, saved and replaced.
Recording can be turned on automatically (the Recording item on the list) or
individual plots can be added (Add or the INS key). The whole plot history
can be saved to or retrieved from an R variable in the global environment.
But I can't find anything about sett...

Error meesage from RGUI
....densityplot(x, ...)
panel.mathdensity(dmath = dnorm,
args = list(mean=mean(x),sd=sd(x)))
} )
This seem to execute OK, but when I went to look at the graphs, I had the
"recording" turned on, and when I tried to PgUp to the first graph, I got
the error message:
RGUI.EXE application error
0x0258D895 referenced memory 0x00000010. The memory could not be "read"
I could see the graphs being drawn correctly. I also tried to select
"Previous" from the popdown menu and the same thing happened....

after identify labels dissapear XP
Greetings:
Using 'identify' to label points on a plot works just fine. However, when
saving under 'metafile' or using the clipboard the labels dissapear. I
believe it's an SDI issue. I am running last R with last Tinn-r under XP up
to date. Anything I can do besides going back to MDI :-)?

R graph window
Dear all,
I am using R 2.6.0 on Windows XP.
I am wondering if R can show multiple graph at the same graph window with different tabs at the bottom of the window, like in S-plus.
Does anybody have experience on this?
Thank you.

Graphics window BUG
I thought this problem would be resolved when I switched to R version 2.7.0
(for Windows), but no - anytime I plot something that produces more than one
page of graphics, the graphics window starts by showing the first page,
until such time as I hit enter to show me the next page, at which time it
speeds through every consecutive page and freezes on the last one. At this
point the last page is

Firefox slide show with embedded SVG

show. I use Firefox for talks (and lectures). I remove the
sidebar and all toolbars, and move the location window into the
one remaining bar, the one with "File" etc. (I like this
anyway.) Then I use F11 to toggle fullscreen. The usual keys go
from slide to slide (PgUp, PgDn). There is an associated css
file that is required for this to work.
An example, with only one SVG image in it (in slide #12), is in
the notes for a couple of lectures I plan to start this week:

Recommend a pdf reader?
Hello!!!
evince is a really good ubuntu pdf reader, but for some tasks I would like to use mouse button 1 for panning, because I use a netbook touchpad. Currently panning is only available using mouse button 3, which I would need to use a separate mouse for.
(I've been unable to switch mouse button 1 and 3 around for evince... but that's off topic... )
I've tried many different
