Hi all, I?ve got an ubuntu 8.04 server with samba 3.0.28 and ldap installed in a net that is working ok. I?d like to actualize samba to the actual version and don?t know how. Sudo apt-get upgrade will do? I?ve read in internet that some people uninstall it and it really scares me! If someone have any idea about how to do it and can give me a link or some clue about it, I really will apreciate it!

To add a twist, unfortunately I would not be fishing for 7.10 packages, but rather 7.04 as we ran into too many issues with 7.10 whereas 7.04 seems rock solid stable. Hello, I am running Samba 3.0.14a under Debian Sarge with a LDAP backend (OpenLDAP) following the IdealX guide. I am using smbldap-tools, too. Everything seems to work fine, except when I try a machine to join the domain: Windows XP SP2 says it cannot find the user. I have tried joining the domain with a domain user account and with a domain administrator account, but it does not work anyway.
